Anyone have experience with the undercover armorflex? I've had the ultra flex before and like the prop system and carpeted under panels but like the MX4 it kind of scratched and dented easily.

Get the aluminum. It'll last longer, it slides open easier, and looks better. With the discount from real truck the RetraxPro XR is only 1700.

I was in the same boat last week seeking info/input before I made a decision. I do not have first hand experience, hopefully will be installing this weekend. I can tell you this, I spoke with several people at Realtruck as well as Retrax and they all suggested going with the Pro. None had anything necessarily negative to say about the One, but all said, "if it was me, I would get the Pro". When even the Retrax rep said this, it's a clue. I went to my local dealer to compare them in person. As a vendor and installer he said, "if you don't need anything heavy duty and don't plan to keep your truck more than 6 years, the One will be fine". He claims the Lexan will crack over the years, sooner in hotter more sunny climates. The One also only has a full warranty for 1 year. Ironically, when I was there, a person with the One came in asking for help because his cover wouldn't open, lol.

Somewhat unrelated, but a very good example of how the Lifetime Pro warranty works, I watched a Youtube video yesterday where the owner showed the cover leaking through the seams. I made a comment saying I asked Retrax about that very issue and they said it will not leak through the seams and maybe he should reach out. He sent them an email yesterday and they immediately replied offering to send him a new cover. That is great customer service!

Hopefully I can save you a little leg work,

I was doing the same today. Did you guys drill the holes in the bed? I have some reservations about doing that, and figured the water is probably going to run under the mat anyway. Thoughts?

Also, did you guys have any problems with the tailgate dropping with the cover extended? I’m guessing it’s the weather stripping.

I put a bead of sealant across the top of this foam insert before setting the front end of the cover down and tightening. No water at all.

I did not drill my bed. I tucked the drain tubes under my bed mat. It rained today, and everything looked like it was working fine.

Did you make sure you had an 1/8" clearance to the rail ends towards the tailgate(use one of the white shipping blocks for measurement)? That's how you set how far back or how far forward the cover assembly sits. If you did that, tailgate clearance shouldn't be an issue.

Drilling the holes won’t hurt a thing.
For the drain tubes I just widened out the factory holes a tad and stuck them through. Widen them enough that there is a bit of clearance around the tube for drainage also; it shouldn’t be a tight fit.
I’d rather not trap any moisture under a mat, inside a closed cover and let it turn into a sauna in the sun. Even if most of it drains out, I don’t want a greenhouse in there. Especially not if your’e keeping any tools or electronics in there, much less clothing, bags, or suitcases.

Any moisture would evaporate rather quickly, i believe. It's not like there would ever be standing water, though I will keep an eye on it.

Do you have a bed mat? Mine goes all the way to the back. If I wanted to drill the bed holes, I'd have to also notch the bed mat. Hence why I'm trying this first.

Make sure it's the same width at the rear and front, while you're at it. I had to make several adjustments to get it even. I could do it again much quicker a second time.

I purchased a Truxedo Sentury CT from a local dealer and am very happy with it so far. While camping this weekend we had a small rainstorm and the truck bed was dry although it wasn't a drencher. I asked about the Elevate TS Rails but the installer said the Truxedo manufacturer didn't have a solution for the composite bed liner yet.[IMG][IMG]

Yes, OEM bed mat. Tubes fit behind it, not squeezed off. I guess where I am geographically it is already humid enough, so I dont feel it would evaporate as quickly if at all. Plus, it rains here every day nearly.

Of course with my luck one of the rail bolts from the factory was damaged and only spins. probably cross threaded and the back fastener came loose. Drilled off the screw head and now I have one rail bolt stuck and worthless.
Any idea what type of fastener is behind the bed? How to salvage this one?

I had problems with the tailgate being able to fully lock, it would stay upright (latched) and was mostly latched but I learned if I leaned on it after the metal latched caught it would click one more time. And that second click I’m calling “locked.” If it’s not fully locked in the PVM rear camera won’t work.

In the end I had to adjust the whole system to be closer to the cab. The spacing technique they suggest with the plastic brackets as spacers was still about 1/32nd too close in my case to get the tailgate fully locked so that the Rear camera was working.

In terms of the tubes I left them to drain on top of my bed mat and took the truck through a touch less wash. Enough water got in there that I’m planning on widening the factory drain holes that are already underneath my bed mat. I called retrax and they told me their drain tubes are 9/16” in diameter they suggest cutting the whole slightly larger, 5/8” is probably just right.

I live in the PNW and get enough rain 8-9 months of the year for me to warrant wanting a plan for keeping the bed dry when I need it

It rained last night and there was a lot more water back there than I would have liked. I was wrong, I think drilling the holes makes more sense. I didn't realize how much water would run down from inside the cannister. . It's going to have to wait until next weekend, but I think I'm going to run the tubes. I think I'm leaving the thing open for now to dry out.

For some reason, it was only a problem if I try to open the bed from the fob. However, after a couple of pushes, it seemed to start working fine. This was after we laid the weather stripping flat across the tailgate.

What weather stripping on the tailgate? Mine didn't come with anything to attach to the tailgate.

Its not attached to the tailgate itself; if I remember it is along the last section of the cover and the tailgate closes into it. It may be already attached from factory. I dont think it is the foam kind like up at the cab.

Yeah, and if you can, run a bead of silicone or sealant along that front piece of foam and set the cover back down on it. I ran some down on the corners at each side also and this seemed to help. 99% of everything else goes through the tubes.

So maybe I’m wrong and this doesn’t lay flat on the tailgate. I thought it was there to keep water out.

That piece gets pushed against by my tailgate when it's closed. I'd describe it as a snug fitting, not overly tight, but definitely not loose.

I have the Bak flip f1 I liked it at first but after a year it faded really bad and the latches to hold it up broke. Also not great in the rain. I had the first one replace with warranty. Same thing happened to the second. My next one is going to be an ultra flex cover also a tri fold. Has very good reviews.

I just received and installed the undercover armorflex from Realtruck last week. I installed it on Friday, a couple of observations for it: install is easy and straight forward, you lose the deck rail system with the installation(I didnt think of that when I ordered it), looks great on the truck. We received a pretty good storm on Friday evening after I installed it and was excited to check out how it did. Well it leaked a lot! I was expecting a little water but this was a lot. It looks like the first folding seam from the tail gate is leaking where the latch is attached with rivets as it just streams in right there, it also leaks a pretty good amount at the front of the bed where those two indents are (where the front wall meets the sides). They do not provide anything to seal that area(nor direct you to in the instructions), so I am going to look at getting weatherstripping or something for there to try to seal it. I sent @SantanaRealtruck a DM amount the other leak so hopefully I just got a fluke or something else as the cover is really nice.
