One other thing, since I watched in full just now.

I'm shocked at how awesome a bead this guy was able lay down with stick arc when he was welding up the prop stuff. Seriously. Did you see this? I learned how to use an arc in the single-digit ages on my grandpa's farm. I would never be able to hold a consistent puddle like this. This is, like, f'n sorcery to me.

 

Yeah, the odd part to me was the level of skill compared to the task. With that much skill it seems there would be opportunities to earn 10x the cost of a new boat? But maybe that’s a different world and I’m stuck in white privilege mode? Was it Vietnam?

 

The glass on one of my mirrors popped out the other week and that was super annoying getting it back in.

Also I fell asleep at 2:00pm and it's now 8:45pm, that's super annoying.

I went caving today in middle Tennessee. It was outstanding. None of us had any experience and we had to get a permit to visit the cave which is 8 MILES long. We spent 4.5 hours inside and didn't even get half of it done. We're going back next year with better gear and hope to finish it. The cave features ancient bare footprints and jaguar footprints.

I continue to be amazed by this state. The amount of unique nature here is never ending.

I wasn't sure if I was worthy of using the correct word our first time. Felt too fancy.

We had to bust out the map more than once to try and find out where we were. Amateurs.

Thinking they should call it “Jaguar Cave”

Youngest son and I spent a full day about 10 yrs ago when I was way more nimble and still had good knees. It was well worth it. Not near as exciting but Dunbar Cave is another good one .

 

You did this one too? I was honestly surprised they approved our permit with no experience but I got the impression not many people apply. I'll have to look up Dunbar Cave.

I did a guided tour of the Lost Sea with the Boy Scouts. I was probably around 8 years old. It involved having to army crawl in a tight passage. I don't think I want to attempt it as an adult. Crazy how fearless we are as kids.

That is great. I'm sure even a thief would appreciate the effort there, and after a quiet chuckle to themselves, let it be and move along to the next. sparkplugs, brakepads, and hexbolts, oh my

 

A motorcyclist catching some of that shit when it rattles off is gonna have to bury a body.

 

At the time I saw it, that was one of the top comments, only to the tune of "whoever is behind them when one snaps off is gonna be in a box". Any of these items would quickly go through a window.

I'm not sure it would actually do anything, save for the brake pads making it damn near impossible to get a quick cut off. I think lining with brake pad plates the whole way could be very effective. I laughed when I saw it, metal porcupine it is, but my next thought after was about how the risk outweighs the benefit, if any.

I mean, it's what's inside the cat that's important to the thieves and the shops who buy them. Oyster harvesters don't throw back oysters because the shells have a few extra bumps on them.
