    Hello,

Got a couple question for you guys out there. Will be getting my 2022 SR5 4x2 TRD Sport in around a month. Don't quite like the stance on the vehicle with the tires. Don't mind the lowered look on the Sport and don't really need to lift but would like to have tires with a more aggressive stance.

    1) are 35's ok on the Sport without a lift like on the other models?
    2) Suggestions or pictures on what I can do without spending a ton?
    3) Has anyone had a tire change done at the dealer before delivery and gotten a credit for the stock tires?

    Thanks.

Any rubbing issues with just the grapplers and spacer? Looks great and I don't mind the lowered stance, I just don't like the weak looking tires.

OP here’s a pic of my 4x2 TRD sport on 275/65/R20. Discount tire said the max I could go up to is a 285 without rub. I believe some people on here have said they were able to get 35s on with minor rub/carpet liner pinned back but I haven’t seen an answer to that consistently enough. It would be recommended to use a spacer for 35s.

To answer your questions unless you’re buying used tires (which I don’t recommend) I don’t think there’s any cheap alternative around it. Expect to pay a decent price for bigger tires with the aggressive all terrain look. Not sure regarding the dealer credit but I’d imagine they would not be flexible enough to offer a credit for the stock tires. Could be wrong though and doesn’t hurt to ask them.

Here’s a straight side shot as well for you to consider if you’re looking at the size I bought. I went with nitto ridge grapplers

Thanks, those look good. It's surprising how just the tires change the look. How is the ride on these, noise and weight difference from the stock?

Ride is still very smooth though the steering is just slightly heavier. Noise is basically the same as stock I honestly couldn’t tell you the difference. I lost about 2 mpg on average with the bigger tires but overall I’m happy with them and I agree the tire/wheel combo really set the truck off

Finally think I'm going with the Nitto Terra Grappler G2 275 60 20. Seems to be a nice aggressive looking tire that's not heavy but fixes the look on the truck. I like the lowered look on the truck so I don't want to lift or deal with spacers. Close to stock but with a truck looking tire.

Here's my 22 stock with 35x12.5r20 BFG all terrain KO2s. Did rub at near full lock.

Where did you get your spacers? My upper control arm is a tad close for my liking so I am looking at options. Maybe a 10 or 12mm for me.

Can you do a shot down the side or can just tell me if the tires sit flush with the fenders. Also, how do you like that pro-comp kit? I don't plan on doing heavy off roading but would like something that can soak up the bumps and washboards on the blm/forestry roads around here.

I’m interested as well. What’s the largest spacer you could fit without having too short of a lug? I wonder if 1/4 inch 5 mil spacer would still give you plenty of thread?

the tires sit flush. The change from the trd sport suspension to the pro-comp, was night and day. Some much better if a ride. The sport suspension was pretty stiff in my opinion.

I have a TRD Sport 4x4. Did a 2 1/2” level kit and added 285/65R20 on the stock rims. No rub, rides great. Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws. F43E94C4-38AE-4F98-B516-F3BB6B12E013.jpgADE9A131-B7B6-403D-96AF-D0726F4E1995.jpg

The front on a TRD Sport is lower (1/4-1/2”) than on the TRD Off-roads so a level to get the 35s is a 2 1/2”.

wonder if anyone can help. i'm first time Tundra owner. 2022 Platinum. the suspension feels mushy, and the rear end 'bumps' like it is bottoming out when i hit a bigger bump. not all the time, but occasionally. if i put in SportS mode it's better, but still get the 'bump'

So you had no issues with the 275/65/20 at all, no rubbing of any type?

0 with plenty room to spare. Discount Tire let me see the tire at full lock before paying and installing the rest and it had no issue at all. You could go to a 285 easily and I’ll be honest the only reason I didn’t is because they didn’t have it in stock and I didn’t want to wait any longer lol. I don’t recommend going any higher than 285 without some front level kit however as you’ll like have to touch the fabric liner or deal with minor rubbing.

So you think you had that much more room from the control arms to be able to handle the extra width on a 285/65/20? Would love to do the Nitto Terra Grapplers in that size.

    Thanks for the advise.

Looks like the 285's are just under 1/2 inch wider so should be good.

Want to thank everyone on the forum for their input. Finally went with the Nitto Recon Grapplers in a 275 65 20. Wanted to keep the same weight and specs. as stock but with a more aggressive look. I'll get pictures once I put them on this Monday.

Now the truck looks good, needed the beefier tires. I am super happy with them (Nitto Recon Grapplers 275 65 20), fit is great, weight around the same as stock, no lifts or mods needed. Thanks again for everyone's input.[IMG][IMG][IMG]
