    Hi.
I know this is a dumb question but I can't find any answers.

Can I just swap my standard sr5 hood with a sport hood?
Or should I buy an aftermarket and have it done by someone with a clue?
    Thanks in advance...

The one from Toyota is just bolted on and isn't a real scoop. Some of the aftermarket hoods actually function as a scoop. All depends what you are wanting and how much money and effort you want to put in.

You can buy the scoop and add it to your existing hood too. Couple threads on it if I remember correctly.

Yes, your hood should be able to directly swap with the sport hood.

As noted above, you can directly swap the hood, yours for a Sport. That would be the simplest method and ideal if you could find a color match.

The other option is to buy the scoop from Toyota and bolt on. A good paint shop might be able to match the paint for the scoop so you don't have to paint the entire hood.

There is a thread in here where folks swap hoods who want to change their scoop to no scoop.

I can't find the swap thread, but you can always post a wanted ad and state your in. Might get a hit. Few folks seem to get that to work out occasionally.

Thanks @1UP , I was actually interested in buying a hood scoop. I’ll guess I’ll try to find that thread to see if anyone is interested in trading hoods if not I’ll post one.

I'd like to swap my scooped hood for a non-scooped hood.
