So when I put in my vin # on the toyota website it shows the PVM recall open. They have to fix it before it ships to the dealership? It seems like the dealer should handle a software upgrade.

Mine was built on 7/14 any idea how long these things get held up for recall work?

You sure yours was built in July? The software updates were usually for those build June and earlier. I think yours is the first i've heard that had QC that was built in July.

In order to ship to the dealership the recall has to be closed. If you notice on your dealers website they most likely removed it. At least that’s what happened with me. Once recall is closed you will see it back in your dealers website. Than you wait. Some people get them in a few days or like me you wait. It’s going on 4 weeks after software update and recall closed on my Truck. No status other than sitting at the rail yard.

Hope you get yours sooner than later.

I heard from the dealership today. Something is strange with my order. It was originally built 6/20, showed processing and was in F status. It now shows A status, and at the top of the progress bar it states that vehicle processing was completed on 8/2. It’s still at factory and shows a new delivery date of 8/10-8/15 which is obviously not happening since it hasn’t even left Texas yet.

That is super odd. I know mine got stuck in that “processing” phase for about 3 months. No QC hold or anything… just didn’t move. At one point there were some dates like yours, but from what I understand is those are completely dependent on it being loaded on a train (which didn’t happen for mine the first time). So those dates can’t be relied upon at all until the truck is actually loaded and has a “rail depart” date in there.

    Here’s an odd one.
My dealer called today to tell me that a Silver SR5 showed up today. I asked the build date at it was 7/22!

Meanwhile my truck is sitting at the rail yard with a build date of 6/11!

My question is who at the rail yard is picking these trucks to load on the carriers ?!??!! Who in the hell is making those decisions!!!!!

Yes very strange. I’m not sure what is going on at this point. Why would it show processing completed on 8/2 when originally it showed processing completed 6/20? I just hope it wasn’t because the truck was damaged or something.

    Update Update

So this morning my dealership received a large order of Tundras. All those Tundras were built after mine.

My salesman said that Toyota has informed them that some models are waiting on “Trim Pieces” and that’s why older built trucks are still in “F” status.

    Im beyond frustrated!!!
You mean to tell me that the assembly of later built Tundras received those Trim Pieces but my truck has been sitting in a rail yard and waiting on those pieces which should have been sent there first!!!
So now the people that put deposits on Tundras after mine in early June just received there Tundras today!!!!!

    Im beyond pissed!

Keep in mind that it's likely not Toyota's fault. There are global raw material and supply chain shortages. Maybe the vendor supplying the trim pieces has plastic for injection molders and can make the SR5 pieces but they can't get any chromium in for chrome plating? You never know. It could be the other way around, maybe the UV blocker additives for unpainted plastics are in short supply and delaying SR5 parts?

Didn’t say it was Toyota’s fault or anyone else’s fault, but it’s still a sh*t show, and still frustrating that a vehicle built more than two months ago still has not been delivered to a dealer who has no idea when it will show up. Call it supply chain or railroad issues or carrier shortages, or whatever you want. It still sucks.

I wonder if that’s what is holding up my truck that was built on 6/20. I ordered a platinum and it’s still sitting at the factory while other trucks built much later have already been delivered or shipped

Seems I might be in the same boat. Just curious, which trim level are yours? I'm waiting on a platinum.

Have you checked the recall status on yours? Mine still shows open, but the interesting thing is when I checked in the past it said last updated on the day I checked it. Now it shows last updated 8/3/2022. Not sure what this means if anything, but it's different than before.
