Right, I just can't stop looking at the 7.49% that's insanity!

    I know.
And I am in the middle of that cause I'm waiting for my Tundra now. If interest rates do come up to 7.49% it won't make sense to do the trade for me anymore.

What dealership are you getting your Tundra from? Last year because of supply issues, I had to get my 2021 Tundra from Cochrane Toyota.

In 2020 I had to get a Tacoma from Heninger because there was no Tundras at the time anywhere. I went with Canyon Creek this time because Heninger wanted to charge an extra $8-$10k over MSRP.

    Too many, but not enough....
Never finance through the dealer, get yourselves into a credit union with half the rate.

My CU is one percentage point higher than the current Toyota rate (3.99 vs 2.99). In 2017 my CU was wayyy lower than Toyotas offer. I could get 3.74 from them best case since I have checking/savings with them and low 800’s credit score.

I found some other CU’s even higher than mine is right now.. in the 4’s for 60 months. I didn’t look through many but only one CU I found was 2.99. If you bank with them then 2.74. Crazy ish.

Thats nuts, I haven't looked recently I guess. When I bought late in 2020 the dealer wanted 4% for 60 months but my CU was about 2.5 for 72. Was a no brainer then.

strongly disagree. Putting $50+k down to buy a vehicle when you can finance it for under 4% and pay additional principal to pay it off quickly is a far better use of $$. Put half down invest the rest in your business, stocks, bonds, real estate or he’ll a high interest savings account right now and you’ll do far better and be out way less cash, unless you don’t know how to play the game. Financing makes TONS of sense on lots of big purchases if you “can” actually afford them… If I had $10m in the bank, I’d still finance all my cars, the rich lease cars, they don’t buy them.

The lowest I've seen is with my local CU at 3.09% (60 or 72 months same rate) if you have the right perks. 3.69% otherwise.

I bought mine in march and the dealer screwed me with 5.9%. I didnt know dealers could take points from an interest rate if it’s through Toyota Financial.

I got it refinanced to 3.9% through my bank soon after. Saved over $3000

No, we’re gonna see a lot of people losing homes soon. How is that relevant? Usually people unload their unnecessarily expensive vehicles in a fire sale before losing their home.

Good find. I've never had a dealer give me a better rate than the credit union.

Best I could get was 5.99% a few weeks ago. Wish we could actually get good vehicle rates from banks and credit unions like our American cousins can. Just another way we get gouged here. Stupid Canuckistan.

How so ? 80%+ of the recently purchases homes were at 2-3% interest. Unemployment is trending down. Inflation is trending up. house values are coming down but this isn't 2008, house values going down or staying flat isn't going to do anything.

Should clarfiy. House values aren't "going down." Merely slightly correcting.

Inflation is up and interest rates are going up.

Realtors dont tell you what home you need. They tell you what home you can barely afford and then get you to sign. If after a year or so interest rates get close to double and you cant pay the monthly payment you lose your home.

Yes sir you nailed it. I have been buying vehicles this way for years. My last loan was 1.9%, basically free money.

What?? Realtors don't tell you what you can afford. That's between you and your bank/mortgage company of choice. And your mortgage interest rate should not be changing as almost everyone does fixed rate loans now. If your bank is trying to sign you up for an ARM loan then run away.
