On with good things to bring:

Fresh rolls, buns, or bread. Make it yourself or buy it from a bakery.

This one is good for any gathering, nice bread is always popular.

 

If I had a good recipe I'd bring a pot of baked beans.

I've also supplied the buns and chips before.

All I do is double the hamburger, bacon and the onion. Bush,s plain beans and baby lima beans. You have to double the cans as well. I can't find 2lb cans. Simple and very tasty.

 

Another easy to make and inexpensive item that most people enjoy:

Sun tea. You just need hood water, a glass jug with a spigot, and tea bags.

I'm not sure what 'hood water' is but my missus often makes cold brewed tea and leaves it to brew on the hood of my truck.

That is why he died you know: his medical providers used Apple products for his medical charting and it auto corrected all his meds, treatment notes, and plans to the wrong shit. So in the end the machine he created did in fact kill him, there is some irony in that.

Truth on that source. I use the facilities as needed, and in a 12 hour shift it's bound to happen.

 

I’m more than happy to have a fast enough trip that pooping on overtime is not necessary.

However, if I get overtime I will poop on overtime and hope like hell it’s in the depot and not in the facilities of a locomotive. There is nothing more unsatisfactory than pooping in the cramped confines of a locomotive toilet. This is also only possible on a trailing locomotive, because pooping on the leader is a good way to get your house burned down.

I will go out of my way to avoid it, even if it means popping a squat behind a bush somewhere.

 

I imagine it would be like a smaller, less comfortable, less well lit RV bathroom while it's in motion. Basically a bathroom experience that nobody is going to do for free.

 

Correct. Plus depending on where the power for a given train is scheduled to be fueled and cleaned or otherwise serviced you can add filthy as hell to the picture.

There’s also the risk of the blue chemical “water” splashing up onto your nether bits if you’re forced to do this while on the move. Plus the toilets on some of them, particularly newer EMD’s, are tall enough that even at 5’10” my damn feet are off the floor if I have to sit on one to take care of business. So if slack action does occur you’re just careening around in there.
