Small update so far. After having deposits at 2 dealerships, I finally found a dealer that had a CrewCab 6.5 allotted. I went to NJ from CT because they had a CrewCab Platinum come to find out it was already reserved, but they also had a Limited with Options on it so I put a deposit on that one and now have to cancel my deposits at the other dealers. According to the NJ dealer, they have a dummy VIN but it is schedule to be built today, with an estimated delivery of mid to end of August. Wish there was a way I could verify this, I see people put up pictures of status progress, if anyone knows where I can check please update.

I'm looking for a Crew Max 6.5' bed w/ TRD OR at a minimum. I'm second in line at a local dealer, but I got off the phone with Longo Toyota (biggest volume Toyota dealer). They stated the waitlist for that configuration is 40 people long and the first person on the list has had a deposit since Aug 2021. As a result, they expect new people on that list to take more than a year to get the truck. Guess I'm keeping my spot at the local dealer...

It’s a very frustrating process. Now my dealer is saying the long waits are due to wanting a long box. More people are requesting ling boxes than they expected and they are having difficulty increasing the supply. Maybe we will all get our trucks one day.

    SoCal here:
Deposit placed 12/7/21 for plat 4x4 crewmax short bed, requested adv pkg, gave rep 4 colors to choose from.
Sales rep called about mid Jan and found a good match for 2/21 build date.
BD pushed back to 3/2, on rail 3/5, delivered to dealer 3/17.

Went with Crown/John Elway Toyota since they don’t charge mark ups, same with Longo, but you gotta wait. Incidentally, I have a deposit on a 22 lx600 since early Dec with Longo but the list isn’t moving at all. I’d give Crown a try, see if their list is shorter. They are getting Tundras in regularly.

Longo isn’t moving at all and no response from the salesman I’ve been dealing with seems to be hard to find a longbed crew max

I ended up going to Hazleton because TOS were going 3-5000 over sticker.

I got lucky had a deposit with my local dealer in Minnesota. Was looking for a fully loaded limited with OR package. He called a couple months later said someone backed out of a 1794 with Off road pack 6.5f ft bed. Build date set for Sep 15 (which he noted have been getting pushed up lately) delivery expected Oct 15.

Also have deposits with two dealers in Socal for a 8361 with TRD off road. One with Longo (April) and other at Crown (June). Crown gave me a build date of 8/30 which could be pushed, and no activity from Longo. I bought my Tacoma from Longo 8 months ago and they stated if I wanted to be on the waiting list for a Tundra to put a deposit same day as my Tacoma delivery.

    Non-refundable deposit of $1,000.00 on 6/10
    Here in a Cleveland suburb.
The dealership never told me I would be looking at months of delays.
Tundra Limited TRD Off Road CM 6.5 bed was built 6/11 I ended up tracking it shipped via rail 6/29 tracked it all the way to Chicago than it changed rail lines from BNSF to CSX at Chicago to CSX rail yard in Warren Ohio (Lordstown yard)
On 7/5. Was supposed to ship to dealership on 7/13 but QC hold for recall happened QC hold released on 7/18. New dealership date was 7/21-7/26. Never happened according to dealership it’s sitting at the rail yard. No status as of yesterday.

My question to all of you what can we do to get our trucks!! I contacted Toyota and they basically said once it leaves Final assembly it’s between the dealer and the yard or port. That’s BS I wouldn’t have put a grand down if I would have known that it’s stuck in the rail yard that’s an hour away from the dealership.
So I am able to track a rail car but when it arrives to the yard or port I can’t track it to the dealership? ???? WTF Seriously!!

Just got a call for a WCP Hybrid Platinum with a build date of 9/8 and delivery expected mid October. Wanted Supersonic Red, but WCP was my second choice.:bananadance:

The solar pro I have reserved has been built for a month, it's just waiting on a train to catch a ride to AZ. Is that the bigges thing holding these up is QC delays and shipping delays?

I feel your pain. I’m in a similar boat. Built 6/3. Two months ago. Released from recall hold 7/16. The VPC where it supposedly sits, is only four hours away. Here we are, 9 weeks after build date and almost 3 since the recall cleared. Oh yeah, and I put the deposit down back in December.

    Panther,

What really sucks is I had to sell my 2017 Tundra because the person who bought it needed it to pull his travel trailer for an upcoming trip. Also my 2017 was approaching 90,000 miles which the buyer wanted to re-negotiate the price if I reached the 90,000 mile mark. I’m borrowing a car to get to work for now.

Oh man. That sucks. Hopefully yours comes in soon. I’m still waiting on a replacement cat for my 2010 DC. Some a-hole cut it off back in March. I’ve been driving a loaner Corolla from the dealer for almost 5 months.

    Update Update

So my local dealership received a large order of Tundras this morning.

All of them were built after my build date.

According to my dealership Toyota is waiting on trim “pieces” and that’s why my truck hasn’t changed to Ground status. Not sure what trim pieces they are talking about.

So as usual at least for me I picked the Tundra that is waiting for trim pieces but the people who put deposits down in July are receiving there Tundras today.

I put 500 down January 31st 2022 for a Limited Crewmax 5.5' w/ TRD package in S MN. Originally quoted 6-9 months. In mid April, I was #5 on the Limited CM list and #19 on the Tundra special order list overall. I just checked in on August 06 and I was #11 on the Tundra special order list overall and still #5 on the Tundra Limited. Dealer said they weren't getting sent any Tundras with the TRD Off-Road package on them...a current issue with production. All 5 of the limited waiting in line are for TRD package. Anyone hearing this elsewhere?

    Finally received an update.

Apparently Tundras built in June had to have some trim pieces replaced? The dealer didn’t say which pieces. I’m guessing window trim?
Anyway it went from no status to F status at the rail yard which the dealership tells me this is Final Inspection. Hopefully it goes to G status this week (Fingers Crossed)

Was offered to put down a deposit on an allocated i-Force Max Limited 5.5 w/TRD 4x4 on 7/8/2022 which was the day dealer was notified. Built 8/2/2022. Shipped by rail San Antonio to Phoenix 8/3/2022. No updates since. Dealer says its probably on the lot in Phoenix. They have seen them offload from the train and sit for weeks because of the shortage of truck drivers to move them the last leg.

Deposit of $1K on a WCP 1794 with Advanced package with options at MSRP made 03/14 local Atlanta area. Trade on my 2016 Tundra limited 4x4 in the deal. Trade price is $9K less then what I bought it for new. Dealer informed me last week that Toyota had "accepted" the order but no allocation yet. I've asked my dealer, "What happens if I don't get delivery by sometime in October? Can I expect a 2023 truck at the 2022 price we agreed to?" His answer: "No way that will happen." For me, all I can hear is a clock ticking and my confidence waning with each passing day without an allocation.:frusty:

Contacted my dealer over the weekend about his latest allocation. He only had a few SR5’s, no Limited, Platinum, or 1794 models and those allocations were short beds. I’ve been waiting since March for a long bed 1794. He had one Blue 1794 on his lot a couple weeks ago but it was already sold and who knows how long they were waiting. Guess I’ll be getting a 2023, maybe in the spring?

once its off loaded from a rail car, that will be the last update until its loaded on a transport. once on a transport (remember these are 3rd party transport companies) that have no intention of giving toyota updates on transport status since they are not tied into the transport update system.

and if its sitting at a port, not like someone is going to go around and update status on 100+ plus toyota's sitting in a port/railyard. these ports hold more than just a tundra waiting for transport to regional dealers.

if you dont want to wait, i would suggest either go find a dealer with a vehicle on lot thats not pre-sold or find another brand, but good luck with that if you dont have the patience to wait.

and if you want a reference, here is a pic of how many cars can sit at a railyard at lordstown waiting for transport to maybe 100+ dealers in that region. and if you are lucky a transport will carry maybe 5-8 vehicles at once and not all of those will be a tundra.

some people have been waiting since nov/dec of 2021 for tundra.

i've personally have been waiting since beginning of may-2022 and expect longer than 4 months at best, probably 6-9 months for normal wait time.

well by that time it will be a MY23. toyota has stopped producing MY22 tundra technically since june/july since that is the usual change over month for production.

the only way you can get a MY22 is if it was already produced prior to the change over and just sitting on QC hold or whatever.

and the dealer is correct, kinda hard to sell a 2023 at a 2022 msrp price since toyota controls that aspect for hold back and what not. only way you can get that price is if a dealer negotiated a dealer markdown outside of toyota rules.

model year and calendar year are not the same.

better go tell toyota to rename all those 2021 calendar year models as 2021 tundra instead of a 2022 tundra.

Ya well I understand that there are more than Tundras at the rail yard however my local dealer has had 2 orders in the last week of Tundras that were allocated after mine. So build dates were 7/21 and 7/22. So tell me why the exact same truck I ordered came after mine and has already been delivered to the dealer/ owner
