well i don't even have a truck yet, but since no other models have any exterior marker lights that i have seen, except the Pro, i think its gonna be tricky
i already looked at the wiring diagrams for gas vs hybrid and the hybrid harness has extra connectors for the exterior marker lights

watching videos, the SR5, or the base model headlamps, have a marker light in the rear corner of them that i can see,

    upload_2022-6-22_23-33-2.jpg

would assume this is LED, as the only replaceable bulb is the turn signal bulb on the base model head lights
so its probably going to take back probing the headlight connector while the lights are on to see which wire powers that little LED, then take and jumper a wire from that, as a signal wire(to tell relay to turn on), to a relay to power on the grille lights, could be easy, could be a pain in the ass, i will eventually find out

the "premium" headlights kinda look like more of a pain than the base model ones.

wiring up the light bar will be easier, it will take a switch, a relay and some wiring, the switch will be on/off, it will signal the relay to turn on/off, then you have power and ground
the reason for the relays is that they can handle more load than what a small circuit can provide, especially to a power hungry light bar

for example, say you have your dash switch in hand, say that it is only rated to handle a max of 1 Amp, the TRD light bar has stamped right on the back of it, 12V 45W, so its going to draw 45 watts of power,
    but wait you said amps!
yes i did, to get the amperage that the light bar is going to use, take the Wattage divided by the Voltage, 45/12 = 3.75 Amps

so now you know that your switch will be overloaded if you try and run the light bar directly from it, it would actually probably melt,
so you will need to use a relay to power on your lightbar, of the 2 most common types of relay, normally open and normally closed, you would want to use one that is normally open,

you could wire it either switched power or switched ground, switched power is the most common(explained below),

so starting at the light bar, you would wire the lights ground to a ground, such as negative battery terminal or body ground,
wire the positive from the light to one side of the relay's internal switch
wire the other side of the internal switch to power +12v, to the battery, with an inline fuse for safety
one terminal of the relay goes to ground
the last terminal goes to your switch as the "signal" wire
once your switch is wired up, when you push it to turn it on, the circuit is completed and it signals the relay to turn on and let the juice flow to the light bar from the battery and not from the switch.

wiring up your switch should be fairly straight forward depending on what switch you get, generally aftermarket switches will come with some form of diagram, if its a lighted switch you will have a +12v wire, +12v switch light wire(dash light circuit), ground wire, signal wire, if it has more than one light in the switch, then you would have more wires to run
    upload_2022-6-23_0-2-46.jpg

hope that helps a little at least

For my light bar, I just used an already made kit with a wireless module so that I wouldn’t have to run wires into my cabin

Trust me I thought about it hahaha. But then I thought, “no I’m tired of this happening all the time.” Like literally this happens almost every time I make a purchase. So I’m going to make them send me another one.
I just cannot believe the dealership sent me this thing in a box with just a little white paper thin cover on it and the box wasn’t even all there. Of course it’s going to get damaged the way some delivery people are.

I bought this and it does not connect to the TRD Pro light bar. What did you do differently?

What is the proper TRD Pro grille parts number if I want to put one on my Platinum that has the front camera? Is it: 53101-0C220 and then for install, do I need to do anything wonky to get the camera mounted? Considering getting this, and depending on cost, might just ask my dealership to install it

Has anyone ordered their Pro Grille from Toyota Laredo?

they seem to be the cheapest shipped option to my zip ($194.75), but also the longest at 3 weeks (assuming they actually have stock)…

3-6 weeks is a pretty normal wait time.
Unless you get really lucky, that’s about what everyone has had to wait to get theirs.

Yepp. I wouldn’t pay someone to just unscrew a bunch of parts. Pulling the front end off to get to the grill is straightforward.
I also ordered that Westcott camera bracket 8/5 and received it 8/10

Sounds good. Yeah I was thinking about getting the grill and putting it on my self. Did you find a good guide? I saw a YouTube video, but it definitely looked like a paint in the ass, though still easily doable.

Oh I just kind of figured it out when I did my chrome delete. C4’s front bumper video is probably the most in depth version showing how to pull the front end off.

Did you just cover the hole for the LED light?

Yeah. I’m not gonna put an aftermarket light bar in it so I just cut some ABS plastic and stuck it in there for now. I’ve got a TRD logo I’m gonna put on that spot

    Ordered.

Anyone know of a blank ACC spot in the fuse box under the hood already? Otherwise I’ll have to buy or borrow a volt meter lol.

Edit: Wouldn't you only want them on when the fog lights are on though?

Any concern with shortening the life of the LED’s having them on any time the truck is on, day or night?

Man those lights from rave look good. I'll swallow my pride and order them in favor of my homemade solution (LOL!).

they do look good being 3d printed, he must have spent alot of time taking measurements of the hole to get it just right, must have a good quality printer as well

I was real proud of mine till I saw those :(. Guess I'll be disassembling and repackaging the lights to recoup $27 of my $37 dollar investment LOL! Fortunately, I had the wiring laying around from an old Jeep project. At least the install will be painless as my gill is sitting in my shop until the mustache finally arrives.

Revisiting this! I still have not received another, undamaged, grill. What is the status of marker lights? Are Rave the only option still or what?

I went into the dealer today. They had a part number for the switch but it wasn’t order-able. Both lights had no part numbers assigned yet.
