Tundras were built for this!!

My 2017 Limited has a whopping 1190 lbs of payload.

Probably best not to hit the CAT scales if you know you're grossly overweight. It would be tough to claim ignorance.

 

I mean we all know the old saying "anything can be used against you" so it may be best not too but then there is always the internet in a few clicks anyone can pretty much look anything up at this point.

 

I’m pretty sure they lower the GVWR on 2wd models to 7100 lbs so there isn’t much difference in payload. My Tundra has the lowest payload of anything I own.

My guess is @FedExTrucker’s door jamb says 1185. Higher if 2wd. It’s a Limited, so it has the big fuel tank (this drops payload by a lot…38 gal of fuel is a lot of weight), probably has spray-in bedliner, factory steps, and a sunroof. All those decrease payload substantially.

He’s getting the 1530 from Toyota saying that is the max available payload on a Crewmax 4wd truck.

 

I say we all take a shot at guessing what the door jamb says and the closest person to the payload number gets a "Tundra Forum" sticker from one of the staff members, what do you say @ColoradoTJ

My Platinum was 1,160 absolutely bone stock. I added a tonneau cover and running boards, then my fat a in it I had 760 pounds of payload in a bone stock Platinum with only me in it. Truck weighed 6,440, GVWR of 7,200.

 

1232 if it isn't spoken for. That's after the yellow sticker.

 

again this is purely food for thought. My 1994 chevy K2500 had a GVWR of 7200lbs

the rear axle was semi floating, 9.5 inch ring gear and the brakes were smaller than the tundra.


Granted the truck was likely a little lighter as well. Interesting how much capacity has changed over time
