Track your Tundra when in "F" status on the train

Mine was built 6/3. Departed 6/8. Didn’t show rail arrival till 7/11. Checking the recall status, it cleared on 7/16. Nothing since. I’m assuming it’s still at the VPC in Houston.

 

I’m in TX, so assuming it’s coming from Gulf States Distributors.
I work in the car business, this is by far the worst system for delivery I’ve ever had to deal with. I worked at BMW, Chevy, Acura and currently with Hyundai - when they give me an ETA it’s usually +/- 3 days. Toyota is an absolute nightmare. What sucks more is that the dealership I’m getting the truck from sucks when it comes to communication.
I tell my sales people all the time to reach out to their customers who have cars on order every few days - even if there no updates to report.

I appreciate this. Honestly, I’d love it if my sales person called me every 2-3 days to tell me there’s no update. It’s one thing if you’re 2-3 Months out, but when it’s an any-day situation, it would definitely make my day knowing that they are checking on the progress. I mean it requires 5 minutes of their time but makes all the difference on the consumer side.

 

Definitely sounds like some type of logistics issue at the Gulf States VPC in Houston.

My truck hasn't hit any QA holds or recalls, but just guessing here...seems like we all must be stuck behind trucks that cannot be moved due to QA/recalls, hence the delay.

My dealer updates me at least once per week but it's been a whole lot of the same thing. No status changes since 06/30.

 

I don't think it's just the gulf states running into those issues. I'm in PA and mine has also been sitting at the railhead with no QC holds, but still not getting on a truck to the dealer. They're hopeful it will be this week, but aren't sure since they haven't been given any updates other than waiting for a carrier.

I'm guessing it's just a shortage of carriers. More trucks ready to go out than they have carriers for since all those that were sitting with QC holds are now fixed or getting fixed.

Is yours stuck at Lordstown? Mine is there in QC for the last three weeks. I hope once it finally clears QC that is not waiting for carrier for another month. So annoying.

 

I can't remember for sure, but I thought I was told NY for the port mine is at. No qc holds at all for mine. Just sitting and waiting on a carrier. I've been fine with the wait up until now, but knowing it's within driving distance and I can't have I'm getting impatient. Lol.

 

Mine is in Lordstown since 7/6 i think. They gave a me a window of 7/28-8/8 that it could arrive. We’ll see

 

Went and signed all the paperwork on my truck that is supposed to be here this week. Had to get the paperwork out of the way and have the truck delivered to the house when it gets here bc my wife is due to deliver baby #2 any day now. We will see when the truck actually arrives.

My truck got off the QC hold last friday at the Portland yard and was wondering how long it took to get on a truck from other people's experience.

 

Wondering something similar. Just found out mine got off QC this past Saturday at Lordstown going to WV.. hopefully won't be stuck waiting for a truck for another month...

 

That's my worst fear. My truck got built 6/17 and if I'm lucky I'll get it around 8/15. 2 months+ is kindof insane in my opinion.

 

Yea mine was built 6/14.. hoping i get it in the next week or two... that stupid qc hold should have just been done at the dealer. 3 weeks delay for a 45min software update.. ah well

 

I still don't know how to check for updates. My dealer will tell me if I ask but I feel like I am bugging the mess out of him.

 

Exactly!!!! My truck was maybe a couple days away from getting on a truck to the dealer when the QC hold went into effect. Just bad luck I guess.

 

Mine was delivered to a Chicago port on 7/19 with no holds. Still waiting and no sign of delivery. It had an estimated delivery date of 7/24.

seriously.. that qc hold went into effect 7/11, my rail arrival was 7/12 so literally a few days earlier and i would have missed that darn qc!

I’m near Pittsburgh. Less than an hour from Lordstown.

 

yea we wouldn't be able to avoid the QC but the dealer would've fixed it 10 times faster than it took.

Now you got me worried! I wonder if other people with rail arrival at Lordstown have same issue.. Maybe lack of carriers.
