You are 100% the asshole because that is aggressive driving. Also, make sure you know your state laws. You pull that kind of stuff in Wyoming and you're liable to have a bad day, because it is 100% legal to pass on the right out here.

I’m assuming In Wyoming you don’t have asshole drivers that hold up traffic in the left lane

We absolutely have idiots. I-80 runs right through the southern portion of the state, and that has idiots from every state on it all the time. Somebody doing something you don't like doesn't deputize you and give you authority to risk an accident. What if that person in the left lane is going slow like that because they're being a dipshit looking at their phone, and when you decide to brake check them they hit you? Then YOU just caused an accident that caused way more problems than they were in the first place. Who's the asshole in that situation? The one not paying attention or the one who intentionally did something reckless?

Like New York City people? I live 6hrs from that hell hole. You literally called out 3 things someone else was doing wrong. But I’m the irresponsible one for checking them. Are you one of the people that cost on your phone in the left lane?

They could. They would also have to explain why they aren’t using the passing lane for its intended purpose.

It has become law in several of these southern states... Keep Right Unless Passing signs in the median and they "say" they'll write you a ticket but not sure if they do.

I meant exactly what I said. I didn't justify what they were doing. They're an idiot, sure. You know what they aren't? An aggressive driver. You're doing the exact same thing as the people who will pull out in front of the guy passing in the left lane and force them to do the speed limit. It's a power trip to exert their will over another. It's 100% the asshole move.

@Bob I'd like to start a petition to have @Lake.Life24 username changed to Ultra Karen because this is the same behavior we all laugh at when the crazy lady thinks she has the right to impose whatever she thinks on everyone she sees.

    No - this is "rightfully."

As in the driver decided to ignore the safety standards developed for all of our benefit, caused an accident that injured themselves, others, and/or just some property, and deserve to be 100% liable.

Douchey behavior is RIGHTFULLY met with the liability of the aforementioned douchey behavior. It's the most common sense.

I would call that a collision. Accident could be taken to imply no one's at fault.

And the world you want to live in? Can't trust anyone, just make up your own numbers and live by them? Perhaps you're an intelligent and reasonable enough person that this would never be problematic for those around you, but I have no faith that the majority of people fall under this category.

Most states are "at fault" states, whereby if you are judged to be at fault for any of the reasons you mentioned (and more), depending on the level of your negligence the insurance company may in fact deny your claim. The laws change slightly from state to state, but it is entirely possible to be denied coverage under an auto policy if you were negligent. And yes, I fully agree with this.

We're talking about industry-wide safety ratings regarding vehicles. Are you really claiming this is a slippery slope that will lead to overwhelming, domineering authoritarianism? We're not talking about allowing the government to monitor your driving habits with accelerometers and in-vehicle camera, we're talking about reasonable tow and weight ratings that are objective and quantifiable. Are you against seatbelt and motorcycle helmet laws as well?

Yeah - no one is arguing that it doesn't. Your insurance company has to cover the OTHER DRIVER.

If you are negligent they can and will then come after you for compensation.

I'm not sure what your argument is here, but no one is claiming that if you cause an accident because your camper is overweight that the insurance company won't cover damages you cause to OTHERS. They will - and then they'll use their team of lawyers to come after your ass and get what's owed to them, denying your own claim in the process.
