Limited TRD Off Road Tires Falken AT trail

Anyone know the weight of the factory trd 20’s?

 

@Falken QA I am installing the Wildpeaks in a 295/60/20 on my SR5 but with the limited wheels this week Can't wait to ditch the stock Bridgestone 265/70/18's on my SR5 wheels.

 

@Falken QA can you recommend Front and Rear tire pressure for Falken AT3W (load rating E) 285/65/R18 For a 2022 Tundra CM Limited 5.5 (0n 18x18.5 BBS forged wheels). Thanks

Looks like you had the stock 265/70R18 (116 load rating) tire size at 35 PSI? If so, the OE tire supported 2696 lbs.

To get this same capacity on the LT285/65R18, you'll inflate to 53 PSI. Keep in mind this is based on the OE tire, which is based on a full cab of people, full tank of fuel and fluids, and to support the truck's payload and towing claims.

 

if you have any issues, let us know. If not, rotate every 4000-6000k miles (cross rotate is possible due to symmetrical tread design).

Your air pressure should be 49 PSI for the LT295/60R20s. this will match the same load capacity of 2696lbs of the OE tires.

Thanks @Falken QA The stock tires are Yokohama Geolander X-CV 265/60R20 (112H) at 35PSI. Does this change the recommended PSI for the above LT rated tires (285/65R18)?

 

I see. With that in mind, yes, the pressure will change. The 112s load rated /265/60R20 tires would support 2418 lbs at 35 PSI.

The adjusted pressure for the LT285/65R18 would be 45 PSI.

 

Wow you serious? I have never had a Toyota with that much psi. Wouldn’t that cause the tpms light to come on being to much pressure? Or is there a way to recalibrate the psi of the tpms?

 

This is to match the OE tire's load capacity & to avoid any underinflated scenarios. Those air pressures are based on a full cab of people, full tank of fuel, and vehicle topped off of fluids. However, there are times when the vehicle doesn't have a full cab of passengers and/or fluids. It is up to the owner to adjust for comfort when not fully loaded.

Coming from a P/non LT size to an LT size will almost always require a higher air pressure to match OE tire load capacity.

 

@Falken QA I see here on Tirerack.com that the A/TW3 in a 285/65R18 116T SL weigh 41 lbs? Can you confirm the weight of these please?

 

This is correct. Keep in mind that the SL/non-LT size 285/65R18 is the OE/OEM tire that comes on the new Tundra, so be wary that it will not have the higher tread depth that you typically see on our non-OE/off the shelf Wildpeak AT3w's.

OE version (part# 59000770) starts at 9/32nds, whereas our non-OE/off the shelf Wildpeak AT3w hover around 13-14/32nds of starting depth.

We do offer a LT285/65R18 E/10 load (part# 28030827) Wildpeak AT3w that has even more tread depth than OE and our non-LT size tires.
