    You do know most of those trucks are diesel and have 1ton reinforced rear ends?

    The 70s land cruiser has a 1200kg payload or roughly 2500lbs

    Early in my railroad career the adjoining Signal Maintainer and I moved 4 loaded box cars a couple hundred feet by using a digging bar between the interface of the wheel and the rail. I got to ride the cut of cars manning the handbrake while the other guy pried with the bar.

    Negative, stock suspension right now.

    Plus Timbren bump stops (and airbags) only reduce rear sag and bottoming out, they don't increase your payload. They actually decrease it, by how ever much they weight.

    Yes... We have washer/dryer connections in the closet in the bathroom. Trying to find a combo unit on marketplace and hook it up. If we need to bug out to the middle of Montana for some reason, we could live anywhere! It would have an absolute ton of gas to get from Memphis to there though!

    I've been dragging an older 5th wheel with my '09 for the last 6 years.

    Just upgraded to this. Seems to pull it just fine. On flat roads 5 the gear at 65 is fine. I drop down to 4th and 60 ish when hills or curves are present.

    I've always wondered why some Tundras came with cab adjustable headlights. Did Toyota know we were gonna overload the truck? Hmmm?

    Tundras are rated up to 10.2k pounds towing depending on which model you have, so an 8k rig with gear and the weight of passengers should be fine, as long as your not overloading the crap out of it or trying to haul ass.. also load more weight in front of the trailer. You really dont want the trailer to be tail heavy.. thats when the trailer starts driving you.. Most important thing is having good brakes and tires. ALWAYS check your brakes connection before you depart... No brakes is the cause of MAJORITY of trailer accidents. and be aware when your approaching steep hills. start braking early... The number one rule is just keep on trucking but stay safe and be smart, we all know out trucks have limits, even a ONE ton can be overloaded and dangerous.. so stay safe out there and watch out for others who might be overloaded especially now that we are in full swing of camping season. I have seen trailers crash and it is truly scary. Do NOT pass someone if they are swaying. Stay safe everyone :thumbsup:

    Don't rely on your brakes to slow you on a steep downhill. Slow down and downshift to let the transmission hold you back.

    I wish I could install a Jake like on my Kenworth but I really don't think a gasser could handle a Jake and they probably don't make a jake brake for a gas engine. But I sure do love the Jake in my big truck.

    Nope on the tranny cooler. When we bought it we had to tow it back from Murfreesboro to Memphis... There's a steep grade just west of the Tennessee River that turns into three lanes because in my semi I would usually get down to about 40 loaded at about 70,000 pounds. Sometimes slower than that if loaded heavier, that's why they widened out to 3 lanes for the slow trucks going up. I pulled it up at 67 in the middle lane and never missed a beat. The weight of the trailer is 7800 so there really should be no problem...
