The UCA's are great. The alignment cams, not so much.

The UCAs look legitimately beefier than what others put out (link). Maybe folks say Camburgs are more bulletproof b/c they use a larger size of round tubing? I'm in the camp that a mix of cast and tubing will always be stronger than straight tubing.

I'd prefer a uniball UCA personally, but I don't recall finding anything in the same price ballpark (sub-$1k) with decent feedback to source. I should still have some flexibility to change my order though. I haven't gotten confirmation of shipping yet.

Agree with Dan but would also ask, what are you meaning by "integration relay".
If I remember correctly from your last member profile, you have a 2002 ?
If so, the FSM refers to the integration relay as the whole circuit board seen below out of a 2002.

I thought uni ball were for hard core off-roading, but more maintenance.

Also, some of the uniball designs rubbed the tower up top and had to be trimmed. Always thought that was a stupid design error. Happy with SPC arms after 3 years.

This was my confusion too, and the main reason I hadn't responded. Maybe he meant 'combination', like a specific combo connector?

Yes and yes. The articulation part of it is an interesting perk for me, and maintenance isn't too difficult. I looked at the Camburg and TC, that (added maintenance) and the all-tubing design are what pushed me away from those two at this point in time.

Cast doesn't have many risks tubing comes with, primarily deformation by way of dents, twisting, or other. Tubing is better in other ways, like it being much lighter, easier to work with in welding applications, but at the gauge I'd expect you need to use for this application, I'd think weight is a moot point.

I haven't heard of fatigue or deformation issues, nor cracking, splitting or other out of any of the UCA per se (well, one brand, but that wasn't in my list of possibles). From a purely logical perspective, SPC appears to use a cast end where the BJ mounts, and tubing for the remainder. Combining the best of both worlds.

I also liked the more-OEM appearance (for this phase at least) and their modified BJ looks like it'll have a longer service life with less maintenance than what Camburg is using while also giving more articulation than OEM. It really looks and does what I'd expect from an "OEM+" type part.

Is it fit for my end goal? Not really. But it's a great solution for me now. And while I'd love to stick with OEM BJ, which I think the JBA units may accept (?), I trust steel tubing with un-gusseted steel plate to mount the BJ even less. So that was totally off the table.

You can, but as I said, it's not ideal. Reason being that it's just more difficult to get to it all. Instead of simply flipping it on a bench a few times, there's alot of (steering)wheel turning back and forth to get all the angles, dragging a welder side to side, back and forth several times because you can't weld one side all at once, it will overheat and warp your spindle. Do a little on one side, drag your shit to the other side, hit that, and repeat. Back and forth like 8 times. Painting would also be easier off the truck as well. To be clear, I did remove the wheel, brakes and disconnected from UCA. The only things I left connected was LBJ and tie-rod.

I think you'll be happy with the SPCs. This is the second truck I've put them on and they are great. Easy maintenance and service if needed. There's a taco that parks next to me at work and has the TC UCAs and they are considering swapping because they've had to replace the exposed uniballs due to snow/sand in winter and dusty/sandy trails in summer.

But yes, don't get the cam adjusters.

Definitely no glass, I prefer steel. No current plan for panel mods/cuts, i.e. bobbing rear, tubbing cab corners.

Truck is already doing what I need it to do right now. So I guess tl;dr version:

Phase 1: More appearance than performance
Phase 2: More performance than appearance

I outlined my current constraints/needs/budget/etc. in the last quote of this multiquote reply.

Tires are in P1 forecast and I'm nearing EOL on my tires, so I had to pull the trigger sooner than later. I opted for 5100s w/OME 2884 springs, SPC UCA. 2884s should lift my AC/4WD ~ 2" front, which should allow 275/70/17without rub if not already possible. If I end up near-level, I do prefer little rake, and I'll add 1" in back. No changes that will dick up driveline angles, require angle changes/drops, or prematurely fatigue anything. I just don't have $$ for early wear & tear right now, nor time to chase down probs.

Still looking at keeping OEM wheels for now, meat is likely still to be Wildpeak AT3.

I'm always open to suggestions/improvements "while I'm in there", feel free to fire away. EDIT: Just know, my truck is under 80k miles with miniscule wear & tear. As much as I've been an outdoors guy and had trucks throughout my life, I've primarily done rods/lowered/bagged vehicles. Lifting and offroad is something I'm learning as I go. Some principles are interchangeable w/lowering, but some is super unfamiliar for me.

I've been talking to a couple of different people about where to go for P2. I'm just not there yet. There will be coilovers. There will be remote res, likely LT. There will likely be shackle reloc. I need to start saving, I'm expecting that may see another $8-10k into the truck, not including wheels I'll probably eventually buy along the way.

    Well damn. This sucks.

Was excited to see my delivery from BilsteinLifts / SuspensionLifts today. That is, until UPS guy walked away, I went out, saw my SPC box was already open, and the other box was beat to hell.

Then I opened to check the condition of everything. Hardware everywhere inside. One SPC balljoint is missing castle nut and cotter. The 5100s I paid extra to be pre-assembled aren't pre-assembled. No ARB springs, so I couldn't even assemble if I wanted to. The brown box with the 5100s and box, the 5100 boxes are pretty trashed, and the Pro Comp rear block kit they roll into your order was already opened, re-taped, and all bags inside were opened already, with loose parts everywhere.

This is a damn mess. I hope their customer support is good, b/c this is looking pretty bad for me, as a 1st time customer...

That's a big bummer, dislike. Hopefully they'll make it right for you. Are you sure these aren't rear shocks they sent you and the coil overs are coming separately? Assuming your kit came with rears.

Can I kick you while you're down? I have something prepared ...:p

SuspensionLifts answered and said they only shipped the rears, and the fronts would come, assembled, in a few days. I sent them pics of what was in the box, same I posted here, but .... You tell me.

Do we use (4) shocks out back on our trucks? And do two of those rears have retention clips and a spring hat?

Maybe this photo will help you to answer those questions. This is what's in the brown box next to the red SPC box in the pic:

I mean, based on the condition of everything and missing BJ hardware in the SPC box, I won't argue if they sent another pair of 5100s assembled with ARB springs.

But ... I suspect I'm going to be blowing them up in about 5-7 days because the assembled fronts never arrived.

    Who knows ....

Ah, that better explains the situation. It wasn't apparent in the first picture there were four shocks in the brown box. That really sucks.

Let's hope that this is the case and they "only sent you the rears".

Yeah, I stacked the rears and fronts side-by-side hoping the box width would be obvious but totally see what you mean. If you look close at the end flaps, you'll see multiple, though these things were tattered as hell. I need to open them and confirm nothing is bent.

I think they must've thought the same when I sent them the pic.

Still no reply back about the missing hardware. Happy I got responses back so quickly, one 9-word and one 13-word reply. I'm tempted to send them this last pic, but the unnamed person replying seems convinced I didn't receive fronts, so ...

Yeah I have one. It’s a basic on / off with illumination when energized from what I could tell. Unless I didn’t understand it. Tried to get the wiring diagram but despite signing up for all their spam I never got a download, it kept telling me to F off.

I had one of these. If I remember correctly it's positive/neutral/positive. Neutral only needed for the illumination. It's just a simple on-off switch.

Got some stranded pure copper welding leads. Gonna have levels of lights. Low beams, Bare minimum, is gonna be a pair of round single LEDs with amber rings for blinkers.

stage 2 will be a little uncomfortable for the oncomer, like people with new cars. 9 LED squares, those will work with the stalk switch. Fogs will run off the button, but anytime.

stage 3 turns on the lightbar, 37" of nilight 700something watt.

not to mention the a-pillar articulating spotlights, roof lights, or puddle lights.

gonna try to hunt for a switch panel for my taco (sunglass) holder. I want a front e-locker and a rear lsd.

if i help sell chrisb's truck, maybe he'll help me build an adaptor.

if i go diesel, gimme the mech inj 3.0 4-banger. 1kz? If i go gas, 4.8 ls. If i find a 440 or 221 windsor...who knows. 300 inline 6 seems like an equal to the 4.7 in pro's and con's.

a built ohv 5.0 wouldnt weight more, but would handle 400 hp.

Yup tuning is a long process. My URD MAF Calibrator took 5 hrs to fine tune on the Dyno, including base runs. It's not dialed in enough and I plan one more session with my new mods soon. Hopefully it won't take 5-6 hrs this time.

Washed Gringo and applied a coat of Griots 3-in-1. Still looks good for 20 year old paint. Had the good people at Discount Tire rotate my tires.

My wife is dog sitting for some wealthy people with a nice car collection. They just got a new Bronco Sasquatch edition. Fancy Jaguar next to it.
