Is anyone running SPC UCAs on a stock TRD Pro with the Fox shock?

I have installed the TRD Foxs on my 2007 RCSB and am now in the process of rebuilding the whole front end. Pricing out OEM UCAs come in at a higher price than buying SPCs, so I am wondering what benefits if any they provide with the TRD pro shocks.

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

I would think the SPC's would allow you to more accurately dial in the alignment. The TRD Fox shocks are a 2" lift, right? I don't think that there are any negatives to this setup. Other's with specific experience with this setup can chime in.

Thanks, but that threads three years old. If I could get some OEM take offs I’d be all about it.

No, recent posts in that tread, OP said they are still available.

I had the SPCs with my stock Fox set up - no issues. If you're planning to run larger tires, the SPCs will allow for more alignment adjustability like one of the responders mentioned.

So I'll start with this shameless plug... We've got SPC arms here in stock at Hotshot Offroad, and would be happy to help should you need it!

To actually answer your question you are technically gaining some strength in the joint, and you are also gaining additional articulation and the ability to fine-tune alignment specs. If you are going to go with a TRD Pro shock and have nearly OEM ride height you would be perfectly fine going with an OEM arm. There's not really much magic in aftermarket UCAs unless you start to bring the front up quite a bit and/or you really lash on your suspension.

How much more articulation could I expect from the SPCs? I assume it would increase the over all down travel?

I am running 285/70r17s. So not the biggest tire in the world but extra clearance around the tire couldn’t hurt.

PandaPro do you have any measurements on your travel numbers with/without SPCs?

Here is the expected "returns" of going to something like the SPCs - However, even in a stock application your UCA is not your limiting factor. You'll run out of down travel in the shock before you find the limits of that UCA.

So realistically the only benefit would be addition alignment adjustment?

Is there any downside to the SPC vs OEM?

I have heard a lot of negative reviews on third party OEM style control arms so my two options are OEM vs SPC. The SPCs are less money so they’re in the lead right now. If there are any other UCAs worth considering I would be open to them as well.

JBA would probably be the lowest price ones that you'll find that are quality. Then you've got Bilstein who makes arms as well at a similar price point.

There won't be any downside to running an SPC arm on an OEM type of application.

The red on the JBAs doesn’t really do it for me. The Bilstein or Ironman units I could get by with. Would their built in camber mess with my alignment because I am only leveled with the Pros?

You can run aftermarket UCAs on stock suspension without issue. The adjustability allows you to drag things back in if you wanted. I don't personally do it, but I have known folks to put an aftermarket UCA on a stock suspension setup so that they can take their caster to the moon as they prefer that feel behind the wheel.

So what hubs do you suggest that you know will freaking work I'd like stronger ones because of my setup obviously but not necessary I just need them to work at this point. Hubs are good now silght wheel bearing tick a replace before it breaks not wait till it breaks kinda guy especially with 8k rim tire setup( ps saved for a freaking year to get em) truck drives perfect the tick drives me bat shit crazy.

This thread really isn't the right place for this question, but I'll take a run at it for you anyway. I am not saying there are none, but I am unaware of any "upgraded" or heavy duty hub assemblies out there. The OEM ones are made by a company called Koyo and I believe they are out of Japan. If you're concerned about quality I would either attempt to find some of them or purchase OEM. Only way to be certain that you're getting quality components especially since you're protecting quite the metal/rubber investment as ell as a fully built truck.

With the Bilstein or Ironmans could I get reasonably close to stock caster if I wanted?

My livelihood is literally dictated by selling people stuff for a living, and I'm telling you that you could get away with OEM UCAs :)

If you want to go with an aftermarket option we're here for that too.

    I totally appreciate it!

I guess I’m more or less trying to figure out the Cons of running aftermarket units vs OEM Toyota one’s. The OEM units from Toyota are more costly than quality aftermarket UCAs. All being equal I’d just get them from Toyota.

You could find some pull-offs here I guarantee it. Mine are gone, but I was damn near trying to give them away a year ago. I would post up a WTB (want to buy) ad in the 2.5Gen marketplace. I say give it a week tops... Someone will get a set in your hands off of a '20 or '21 for cheap. If it doesn't work out lemme know and I'll set you up with something else.

I’ll give that a shot. I’m replacing ALL of my front end on my 2007 so if you know anyone with take offs let me know. I already got some knuckles but everything else is needed.

Hanzo, did you find any Take off uca for your 2007 Tundra? I still have my 2020 Tundra Trd Pro uca that came off when I had the Readylift SST +2 installed.
