Scratched spark plug tube seal seat

Hello all. I'm replacing the spark plug tube seals on a 5.7L 3UR-FE. In the process of removing the first seal I scratched the seat for the seal, a bit on the lip and the wall of the seat.


Any suggestions on how to remedy this so I don't get any leaking oil? Would a couple of small dabs of Toyota black FIPG on the scratches right before seating the plug seal work?

 

I'd try to smooth the gouges with some emery paper.

 

Yeah, that's a good suggestion. Thanks. It's not that sharp/rough/raised. The RTV will fill the gaps, but the burrs will tear the seal.

I wonder what grade aluminum they use? Sure seems softer than the T7075 I'm used to from working on ARs.

 

Probably a 5000 series or softer. Just go slow and even it out.
