As of this morning my truck now has no volume control from the head unit, nor the steering wheel control. Its a stock JBL unit plugged into a DSR1. Never had this issue before. I tried reseating the plug on the dsr1 for giggles, but no luck.

Anyone heard of this issue before?

    Reboot your DSR1
Unplug the large black plug and the smaller one for about 30 seconds and back in to power up.
Mine has hiccuped and farted before.
You will prob have to load a preset if your not full passed.

Yup, same exact issue with my stock head unit to my soundstream amp. I don't remember if this happened before I upgraded my audio system or after. What I don't know is, if any amp will cause the no volume control issue. Mine doesn't even show the volume numbers going up or down on the screen when the problem occurs. I have to turn off the truck and turn it back on again to get the sound back.

Got the same thing, no numbers on the display or anything.

I have yet to try to reboot the dsr1, been too busy. Gonna give it a shot this week tho.

So out of the blue, volume control is working again. I dont get it. Literally nothing was reset or happened.

Probably going to just swap out the stock HU..the jbl unit drives me crazy.

I'd have to turn off the truck and turn it back on again for the volume control to work. It has to be the HU problem, if its the amp then you should in theory still see the volume numbers. I wonder if it was a bad over the air update or faulty HU.

Truck had been restarted multiple times, only started working again today. Strange...either way..need a new kenwood and kick the jbl to the curb. Lol. Already got dsr1/amp/speakers, so HU is the final bit. :)

You’ll be glad you went aftermarket. Well worth it.
