Rough Country Trifold Tonneau Cover

I've read that this cover doesn't fit the 22 very well. Maybe a little short with some leaking at the tailgate? On the website it shows that it fits the 22. Can anybody give any insight on this? I love the price of the cover and was going to purchase it until I read these reviews.

 

I noticed the same thing. I wonder if they are just Selling the 2nd gen cover as a 3rd gen.

They technically will fit but not perfect if so considering the 2022 bed is 1” longer and 1/2” wider.

 

I purchased the Rough Country for my 2022 Tundra and was happy with it. Fit reasonably well. You need to order with factory rails. For the price a good value.

 

Any water leaks into the bed?

Minimal water after going through a car wash yesterday. Yes, order with cargo management, these are the rails in the bed sides and front. The rough country cover comes with rails that attached to the factory rails. It helps to have two people helping on install.

 

I just ordered the Rough Country tri-fold. How does the cover do keeping out water? I am a little worried if this cover is just a 2021 model marked for the 2022 Tundra.

I ordered and installed one a couple months ago. For the money it’s great. Does a decent job keeping water out. I did not install the drains. Took about 1.5 hours to install.

 

I don't have specifics but when I first started looking they were selling one that said '07-'22 and now they have separate covers for '07-'21 and '22. I called and they said the '22 cover is specifically for the 2022 Tundra and would not fit the 2021. Again, don't know if that's legit but that's what they said.

 

Is anyone that has ordered the Rough Country tonneau specifically for the 22 able to confirm in the OEM tie downs for the rail system are still usable?

 

the Rough Country Tonneau uses the tie down slide to secure the cover to the truck. Therefore, the tie downs are unusable when the tonneau is installed.

 

So you would have to completely remove the cover's rail system in order to use the Tie downs at all? That's a pita.

 

Correct. I don’t believe there is enough headroom to lane the tie downs installed and close the cover. Additionally, the placement of the tie downs is limited due to the tonneau’s use of the tie down rails for its own securing mechanism.

 

What do you mean that you need to orde with factory rails? Specify that you have factory rails when ordering the cover? I have 2023 TRD Pro and I see rails there where the tie down cleats slide back and forth.

 

Does this cover fold all the way up like the Bakflip MX4? If so, does it cover the bed camera in the high mount brake light?

 

No, only folds twice and lays flat on the last panel.

 

I got the Flowkottu, and they modified the brackets to fit the Tundra side rails. I'm not sure they had to do that maybe because FedEx dropped it. Excellent customer service though. Great roll down model.
