BMC needed?

I have 2020 TRD Pro with the stock Fox suspension with the Westcott lift and stock uppers. No bmc was needed to fit 35’s and +25mm wheels.

I’m upgrading to Kings 2.5’s with Total Chaos uppers. Will I need to get a bmc now?

Wheels/Tires: 35/12.5 Nitto Ridge Grapplers and +25mm SCS Wheels.

 

Maybe? I did not, but every truck is different. Did you get adjustable TC uppers? If not both the non-adjustable and adjustable come set the same, both move the top of the knuckle back to add caster making the tire closer to the body mount. With the adjustable you can move the knuckle forward but lose some caster. Both will allow better alignment with more caster via moving the lower control arm forward some, but maybe not enough to cancel out the additional set back with the TC uppers.

 

Thank you for your response. I did not order the adjustable tc uppers. I am hoping it’s not needed, but I guess we’ll have to see. I’m not opposed to it at all, I was just wondering if there was a clear cut answer for a yes/no for a bmc.

 

You may have to since once you change out your suspension components, then it'll mess around with alignment. Install the new kit, get an alignment, and go from there.

 

There is not a clear cut answer, but a good alignment tech will help things. I do alignments and have been able to clear things nobody else does but that requires some time. Feel free to dm me with any alignment questions, happy to try and help.

Going with no, since the wheel position remains the same. Suspensions more or less (with the exception of long travel), travel roughly the same amount up and down. Lifting the truck reduces the frequency of rub on a truck with a very aggressive offset but get it to full stuff and it'll rub. Changing from the Fox/Westcott to King wont increase scrub radius for the wheel either.

+25s are pretty much the sweet spot.

 

When in doubt cut it out. Lol I had that same setup previously and definitely needed the BMC done.

 

I did the preemptive strike and did the BMC before my lift and tires. I'm glad I did, because I would've needed it.
