It's pretty, but for EDC I'd look for some different features. Plastic to keep weight down, ditch the thumb safety, and striker-fired if at all possible. So I guess I'm recommending a Glock 42. I haven't owned a Glock, but reliability is legendary, even if comfort and beauty get sacrificed. And I believe it's Austrian-made, not American. I do own a S&W M&P Shield EZ 380, which is about the same speed. It's a girly little gun, but the size is very comfy both in the hand and on the hip, and Smith makes relatively reliable pistols. I'm in the process of adjusting the mag release, as it sits too proud of the frame (just waiting on a bottle of blueing), but other than that I've been happy with it. It's hammer-fired, which isn't optimal to me, and I may trade it in for a Glock some day. I have a Ruger LCP as well, and there are benefits and drawbacks. It'll fit in the pocket of your jeans, but it's lack of comfort shooting makes it zero fun at the range. Sorry for the rant...

I have the Ruger as well. Thanks for this insight. Always looking for a new pew pew but it does interfere with my truck mods

I'm glad you are back! Hopefully your back is better now as well.

Keep us posted on both the truck and your back. Take it easy when installing the shields. I hope you have a helper. My wife was very handy holding the wrench on the nuts as I tightened them.

I'm old school and still carry a P89. I do need to get something smaller for CC.

I have a Star BM which is a smaller 1911 style in 9mm. I personally wouldn’t carry a gun that heavy in a caliber that small. That said, my daily is a Sig P365 so I’m a weight snob.

also have a LCP but it’s neglected since I got the Sig.
