I went to Discount Tire, and the guy handed me a paper that said, “code sets until sensors respond to ecu following write ids”
    What does this mean?
He didn’t seem to really know when I asked him. He walked inside, and came out and said, “just drive it a bit”.

I took off the original 20 inch wheels off my 2015 and put on trd off road wheels from what he thinks is a 2018.
We think so because it would only read the sensors when he put 2018 in his sensor scanner.

None to day....that’s why I’m here.
Weird, I took the sensors off my 18” factory rims and put them in 17” aftermarket rims. Worked no problem.

    Alot of them
The sensor types and mhz that they transmit at have changed over the last couple of years. The 20/21 are different than the older models.

I had a problem with multiple dealers giving me different TMPS PNs for my 20 Plat push-start w/ 20" aluminum wheels when I "lost" a sensor due to the front left tire coming off at the dunes.
Ultimately, I found 3 dealers that agreed on a PN after buying the wrong one and had Les Schwab install it with an OBD2 tool that read the IDs by scanning each wheel and took 2 tries to register.

Try using the following manual for registering the sensor IDs and then setting up the low inflation warning (-5PSI) based on the current pressure:

I gave my 2017 TRD OR wheels to my father in law for his newly purchased 2020 SR5 that came with steel wheels. Big mess for him as well to get the sensors to work right. He replaced them all and had to make a few trips to the dealership with them swapping sensors and trying to program them numerous times. They finally got it and it's been fine ever since, but what an ordeal for something so simple. Come on Toyota.

They made the gen3 Tundra work with more frequencies and easier to setup btw.
