The Limited and up trims have an acoustic laminated windshield. I assume this provides a slightly quieter cabin environment through the reduction of wind noise.

Has anyone tested different trims and noticed a difference? I have incredibly sensitive hearing from previous acoustic trauma and wind noise really irritates my ears. I know that TFL Trucks tested the Limited interior noise via decibel meter while towing against the other manufacturers, but I haven't seen anyone test, or even talk about, road/wind noise between the different Tundra trims.

I'd appreciate any input you guys have!

My dealer only has a premium to test drive - everything else is spoken for, so no test drives of other trims. I'm usually a less/simpler is more kind of guy, and prefer the way the SR5 comes, plus a few practical extras.

    This is a bump.

You could most likely get an aftermarket film installed on the glass to help. Try contacting tint shops to find out what they can offer. If you’re leaning towards a lower trim without the acoustic glass. It’s worth a try Best of luck

I'm pretty sure the acoustic glass is only available on Capstone

My platinum is scheduled to have it equipped with it. Maybe because it’s a Canadian truck?

There is a youtube video out there with a comparison - if i remember correctly, there was a difference, but it was not that many decibles.

Decibels are a logarithmic unit of measure of sound pressure (loudness). Every 10 dB doubles the sound pressure, so a couple dB can be a significant difference.
