    Hello, everyone.
Dave here from Illinois. Just got my new Tundra on June 30th. 2017 silver Crew Max SR5 TRD off road. I love the truck. My decision to get the Toyota was simple.....RELIABILITY!
    Toyota is known for it.

In fact, in my research, the only 1/2 ton truck recommended best buy from Consumer Reports is the Tundra. The ratings are well above average in almost every category. Only older (2007 or so) had any issues ( non green check mark categories) newer models...all green.

Only category they are outdone in is the fuel economy.....barely. However, Ford's ecoboost 3.5 real world....is not getting their sticker rated mpgs. So, I can't really complain.

Almost got a Tacoma...but price is way too close and the fuel economy is not greatly better. So, Tundra it was. I refused to look at GM and Chrysler based on the government bail out they took. Plus, their QC just isn't like Toyota's.

Only complaint I have at all is the underpowered stereo that is stock. Leaving the head Entune unit...but may upgrade to better speakers...maybe a small amp? Nothing crazy. Just want a little better sound than stock provides.

Anyway, thanks for the add and I hope to get a lot of tips and experience on tunes, mods., and general upgrades you guys have done to yours.

    Thanks
    Dave

Welcome and congrats. I went through similar assessment when I decided to go with Tundra back in 2010. Plus we had Sienna van for many years. Our mechanics used to complain that we only see him for inspection. My Tundra has been flawless so far.

Welcome from CO. I second what @chphilo said and agree with you on the pricing between Taco and Tundra vs MPGs between both. And yes, stock radio is lame.

Welcome from CO. The 07 had some reported issues. Mine has had zero. Early on in 07 about 20+ Tundras got bad crankshafts thru no fault of Toyota. 0.01%(or so) of total 07 production run.
