35 inch tire spare mounted underneath?

If the hitch is deleted (and no mods to exhaust system), are there any other mods required to mount a 35" underneath?

Is it a true 35"? I fit a 295/70/18 (34.3") and kept my hitch with trd dual exhaust and wider coachbuilder shackles. You'll need to remove the spare tire guides. Never heard of anyone removing the hitch before.

 

So you didn't have to cut anything? I also have dual exhaust but no shackles. Any other pics you can share of the process you took to fit your bigger tire there. This is something I really want to do.

 

Here's a picture of what needs to be cut off or hammered up and out of the way.

@AZTundra thanks very much, really helpful. Same here, i have a 34.3-.5ish diameter. Looks like this should work w/o need for hitch delete.

 

There is definitely no need to remove the hitch. I have a 285/75/18 under there which measure 35.1 and it fits just fine after removing the recommended pieces.

 

Yeah, once you take care of those brackets that guide the tire into place you'll be all set, especially if you don't have the thicker aftermarket shackles.
