3.5 inch lift on 2WD

Howdy,

I have a 2007 2WD tundra with stock suspension. I need new shocks in the front and rear and I also need more clearance for off roading and launching kayaks, so I am looking to buy Rough County’s 3.5 inch lift. It would make more sense to go ahead and get the lifted struts for the front instead of just using spacers in the front, but rough country’s website says the lifted struts are only for 4WD. I want the lifted struts because they just perform better and have longer durability, and I’ll get new front shocks while I’m at it. RCs website says that the lifted struts are only for 4WD, but I don’t know why. Will the lifted struts fit on my 2WD? Like I said, it makes so much more since to get the lifted struts because I already need new shocks in the front, and the kit will come with them for a reasonable price. (If you just select the spacers option, new front shocks are not included, just spacers in the front and shocks in the back)

Update: I think I’ll just go with the spacers. I will just buy two new front shocks separately. I think it might even be possible to get the 3 inch adjustable Bilstein 5100s and get a little more lift overall. I’ll try to keep the thread updated.

 

Keep in mind whatever lift height you go with might yield different results due to less weight on the front of your 2wd truck
