I'm trying to find the right setup for my german shorthair pointer. He rides with me to work most days so I want something more than seat covers. He was spoiled before in a SUV with the seats folded flat. Theres plenty of space in a 22 crewmax but its hard to make the most of it considering the floor hump and storage area.

I got a back seat hammock off Amazon. It’s waterproof and keeps hair and sand off the back seats. It attaches to the front and rear head rests and keeps my dogs in the back seat also.

Gunner kennel! Only safe way to have a pet ride, keeps the dog hair contained, and no distractions. My pup crawls in and lays down immediately and doesn't even make a sound, very comfortable for him. Expensive, but definitely a buy once cry once. Plus it will save your dog's life in an accident.

My GSP rides in an intermediate sized Ruffland kennel behind the driver's side seat. I built a platform for it to accommodate the hump. I see you're in Frederick. You're welcome to check out my setup if you like to see if it fits your dog and your truck.

Would I be wrong in saying there are days I like my dog better than my kids?

Canvas tarp, piece of PVC, grommet maker and a few small pieces of low stretch line. I have hauled my labs all over the country like this.

    Getting there
I got this one: ASIN B09STB1LKN in 60x64. I found the smaller one didn’t fit all the way across or lay flat in the seat. It’s worked great so far.

I was thinking of getting them inflatable mattress for rear seats for when taking doggos around. But I'm afraid they can pop it with their nails.

    Something like this:

Definitely not recommended. We have an air mattress that we put out whenever our kids have friends stay over and my traitorous dog that usually sleeps with the wife and I always chooses to sleep with whichever new kids is at the house. We've replaced two air matress' in the last year from his claws popping them and I think we do a decent job of keeping them trimmed. In the truck I think the mattress would get holes even quicker since he has to jump on it instead of just walking.
