Saw them at Nassau Coliseum in NY with just David Gilmour. It was the concert where Delicate Sound of Thunder was recorded and the video for Comfortably Numb was recorded (which you cant find anymore because of a copyright issue with Roger Waters). Had floor seats 8th row. Loudest show I was ever at. My ears were ringing for days. But it was great.

I could not disagree more. David Gilmour does much better work on TDSOTM, WYWH, and Animals.

I believe it’s a solo, but the rift in I’d love to change the world by ten years after is pretty sweet

It’s so freakin good but so overplayed.

I feel the same about Bohemian Rhapsody. Check out The Prophet's Song off A Night at the Opera, though.

Check out "39" by Queen. It is the only song they performed that Freddy Mercury didn't do the vocals on.

Stairway to me is probably not top 3 Zep song solos - I’d take Heartbreaker for that honor.

Other contenders I didn’t see named

    Sweet Child o’ mine
    Teen Spirit
    Reelin in the Years
    Crazy Train
Whipping Post/One Way Out and Statesboro Blues amongst my Allman picks.

My first 2 I guarantee if you stood in a Guitar Center for an hour on a Saturday morning you will hear someone play.

Comfortably Numb on the Pulse album is even better than The Wall. The singing is live so not as good but he goes crazy on the guitar at the end during the giant disco ball part.

OK, I need to fess up that I was intoxicated when I made this post last evening when I wrote this. Floyd always sounds good after a few drinks.

Jimmy Page is one of the greatest guitar players in my opinion and is so under rated. He can play about any note in 20 different ways. "Tea for One"is a kinda lesser known song by them where he shows his skill.
