I’m just going to keep telling myself I don’t need this one - even with the prickly pear skeleton.

When a kid, we had a big picture book called “the human body”. Cut aways and expanded views with layers and bright colors. This red dyed prickly pear reminds me of the layers of small blood vessels right below the skin. At least that’s what I think I’m remembering, lol

The encyclopedias at home have some clear plastic pages with layers like that. Shows the muscles, circulatory/cardiovascular system, and the nervous system. Always thought it was cool to "look inside" like that.

Yeah. I did one of those visible body models as a kid and it reminds me of the blood vessels too.

Could be a Ka-Bar, but with it being completely unmarked, it seems like it might be more likely that it’s a “theatre knife”, a custom knife made by a soldier in the field.

I’m in agreement about the knife very likely being a ww2 theatre knife. Doesn’t look like a kbar much at all. Nice research link! A lot of ‘found’ steels are quality hi carbon steel and will perform really well. You gotta treasure those knives you inherit!

    This particular knife
    40B1B0EE-1D0B-4672-9B05-64033E10BFB4.jpg
is sold through some internet distribution company. Based on the description and information not provided, my guess is, it is a mass produced product from Pakistan or China. Your butter knife on the counter will probably hold a better edge. I’m not interested in competing for this market. If I make a knife along these lines it would probably sell for more like $1,400.00. Not $140.00. And I would need to get a serious advance deposit.
Are YOU up to THAT challenge?

I did not mean to suggest anything toward price. I was just saying it would be cool to see a Damascus KA BAR with your stamp on it. I meant no offense and was only inquiring about your interest level in that kind of a challenge.

I took no offense, sorry if it came off that way! Seriously, though, I am way way behind on keeping up with my “challenges”. I need to do a shifter knob for @TucsonTundra1794 , tactical hawks for @War Machine & @jewsNbrews , and a cleaver for @ToyoMafia .
I’m not sure about getting these done, to be honest!
