I am a huge fan, hell I have a song lyric tattooed on my arm. But the band is 1/2 gone (RIP) and Phil's voice isn't what it used to be. Not hoping for much.

still not sure how I feel. I love ZW but Phil after The Dime and Vinnie fall out.

Is it pantera without them or tribute. I feel ZW could be the only replacement though

Well I'm a total loser since I was raised in TX since 3 years old and never got to see them live. I'll be damned if I don't take part in this shindig and yeah it ain't the original lineup but Zakk is as good as it gets when it comes to doing Dime's riffs - he and Dime were tight and they both can shred like no other. Phil's voice isn't prime but it's a helluva lot better than Chad's in Mudvayne lol Besides, I've been watching some recent videos of Phil in concert and it sounds like he's getting his voice tuned up a lot better.

I already told the wife we're gettin Mom to watch the kiddos and doing this.

Have you heard of Texas Hippie Coalition? Pantera was a huge influence for them

 

If they came here I'd go too. But instead of getting somebody to watch my kid, I'd call my kid and invite him to go with me.

Have you been to Vinnie's and Darrell's grave? Just so happened to be working in that area years back, I stopped by

 

I saw them with static x or soulfly in the early 2000’s

I get it mixed up because I’ve seen static x with soulfly and was always fucked up on something for several years at that time. Saw tons of shows at that time. Saw a lot of slayer at that time too when hatebreed and KillSwitch engage open up for them

Couldn’t agree more.
Will be interesting to see how the first shows get reviewed, but not going to be holding my breath.

 

Can’t wait to be there enjoying the music. I got to see them twice as a young teenager on the reinventing the steel tour. I have 3 dimebag picks from those two shows. I don’t expect this to be what those shows were but I do expect this to be a kick ass tribute show especially with the line up.

Closest I got to seeing Pantera was watching Hellyeah twice.
My son and I walked out both times and got more beers..
It was just noise..

BTW we waked out on Anthrax as well..

We've seen AX7 4 times, one of his favorites, loved every minute of it..
