    We did them battered and deep fried the last time, and the texture was a bit rubbery; cakes or chowder make sense!!! Especially if they are soaked in the heavy cream of the chowder for a while. I think that helps break down some of that texture!

    One thing to remember is the clams only need to cook for 3 to 5 minutes. Longer than that and they will get chewy .

    For most seafood I recommend soaking it in gasoline or lighter fluid and than adding some fire.

    This reduces the bulk of it, therefore taking up less room in the trash. The bonus is that the fire helps kill the nasty smell of said seafood.
