Valhalla Shields

If you ordered Valhalla Shields and are wondering the wait time. I ordered mine April 8th and they arrived today.

I got the skid plate thick Aluminum in black. Front and Back shields.

I put mine on yesterday along with using pentagon bolts and dome washers. I know, given enough uninterrupted time, a persistent thief will find a way to get the cats but I can't see a thief investing the time necessary to do it. Great product from @Classy63 !

 

It is in there...I promise...or is that my full size cardboard cut out of Farrah Fawcett?

 

They are in there. I was just heading out the door for an overnight trip.

Sunday pictures of the shields . I promise, I peeked and they look great.

 

My order was placed March 3rd for 1/4 aluminum and have not received my plates yet.

 

The apprehension is almost as intense as that time three days before I traded my Taco in on this new Tundra I had reserved weeks prior, when I was huddled in the tornado shelter and three funnels dropped from that storm and somehow all missed

I installed my cat plates from Valhalla last Thursday. I'm in my early 70's and the hardest part for me was crawling around under my truck. The plates fit like a glove with the attachment points and the attachment hardware (I got the pentagon bolts) were straight forward to install. I also bought separately the dome washer bolt protectors. Love my plates.

 

The nut plate makes it way easier. I just zip tied it in place.

 

Just got around to installing mine on my Tundra. Did you torque the nuts, or just tight as you could get them?

 

I torqued the security screws that I used to their spec on the website. Its important to not go too crazy on the torque as if you go too tight, it will start pulling the nut plate down and bending, then that will make it almost impossible to take the bolts out. Ask me how I found that out lol

 

You found a torque spec on the Valhalla's Shield website? I looked, but couldn't find it. I also PM'd Tyler, but I understand he is busy, and don't expect him to get back to me any time soon.

Hello, just curious how long it took before you got the plates? Or did you never received them? Let me know. I know the wait time is over 1 month. Thanks.

 

check the other thread, I wouldn't order anything from him. no response and no delivery in months. go elsewhere.

 

Appreciate the heads up. Sad to hear this is happening to a lot guys on the forum. Bad experience in the last year or so. I got the front skid plate when he first came out, but decided to get the rear also. Did you buy from him? What brand did you go with if you don't mind telling me. Appreciate the feedback. Thanks again.

 

I ordered mine from Talon's. Super fast shipment and I'm really happy w/ the quality.

 

Go with Talons. It’s the same plate, cheaper, and you’ll get shipping info in 24 hours.

 

I’ll reluctantly agree that Talons seems the way to go. I ordered Valhallas shields very early on and got them in about 2 weeks. It was before the Valhalla/talon divorce. It’s a shame valhallas has failed as a business model. If I were to buy today I would buy Talons shields. I may have been wrong in my early defense of Valhalla shields.

I ordered way back in April and heard nothing after that date. I tried contacting him through website, email directing and through PayPal and still got no response. After that I disputes the order through PayPal with still no response from the Valhalla guys. Ended up getting a refund from PayPal and ordered through talons instead. Ordered on Thursday and it is shipped and will arrive Monday. I would suggest to avoid Valhalla shields until they get there business model working better. Just disappointed I got no reply from them after repeated attempts and almost 3 months of waiting.

 

I ordered my back in March. I knew the wait time will be over 3-4 months. So I patiently waited, noticed he responds to some threads on here. I PM him, and he responded.
"I have your plate, and I am trying to send everything out this week or next week." This was June 18th, 2023. So we'll see. Sorry you had to go through this. A lot guys not too happy, I heard.

 

Same. I have his product and like it just fine; it did take me a month or so to get it. With that said, at the time, he was one of the only games in town. Now he's just one of a few who are making them...and if I can get the same quality cheaper and faster from Talon, I'd definitely choose to do so.

 

My back log is the smallest it has ever been. I should have most of it shipped within the next week

 

Nothing has changed with Tyler’s behavior. He still ignores communication and can’t deliver the product he sells.

At end of day he ruined his reputation and business - consequences of being an ass

 

UPDATE: Filed case with PayPal to dispute charge and Tyler is not responding to case.

I also sent communication through his website that I wanted to cancel due to his inability to deliver the product he sells. Big surprise, no response.

Make no mistake PayPal will intervene and refund money after allocated time, but what I wanted to highlight is Tyler’s behavior - after making a customer wait for over three months, failure to respond to messages, he continues to demonstrate his arrogant and rude behavior by ignoring the process in order to delay returning funds as long as possible.
