So does he leave the flashlight on all the time or does he remember to turn it on before setting out if it's dark?

Had the opposite experience with our trailer. The shop ordered the part we needed on Wednesday and told us if it wasn't in by Monday, they'd install it after we get back from our next camping trip. Called me yesterday afternoon to say the install was done.

If it didn't get so cold, this might have been enough to get @Azblue to move up there.

Actually on all the dog walks over the last several months I've never seen this truck move.
It's poorly parked in the driveway, I'd notice it if he/she moved it.

No shit, 30 minutes after I made the post they just called and said my truck will be done this afternoon.

This is great, but WTF is going on with the office staff at the shop? Maybe talk to each other before calling the customer with 3 different completion dates.

Now I have to cut out of work early, drive completely across town, pick up the wife, and drive back across town all before they close at 5.

    back pain update:
I'm done with the conservative pain management BS.
Injections, ablations, medications none of it worked.

Went yesterday to see the orthopedic surgeon that fixed my wife's neck years ago... (take it easy pervs)
They said I probably need surgery, but hopefully not a fusion.
Getting an imaging procedure Monday, going to inject contrast into my spinal area and do X-rays and a CT scan.
They just called and they explained it to me.
I have to lay flat for 24 hours after the procedure to avoid a horrendous headache.

If they don't finish my truck tomorrow, they are going to have to wait until Wednesday for me to come to get it.
I've waited 8 months, they can wait a few days.
    Right?

    Side note:
    Has anyone ever taken Gabapentin?
They want me to stop taking 8 Aleve every day and prescribed it.
It is supposed to help with nerve pain since muscle relaxers and the other stuff don't do any more than Aleve does.

Do you have to eat and do all your business through tubes or what?
The name sounds familiar but I can't think why. Maybe House gives it to some of his patients.

I dunno what is going on with you but I had some back pain about 12 years ago. I had just gotten a super swanky, plush mattress about 3 months earlier. Turns out it was my bed. Had to get the firmest memory foam available. Viola, after a back adjustment by the orthopedic surgeon, life is good!

Fast forward to present day. Starting to get back problems again. Pay attention and my memory foam bed has gone from super firm to plush. new firm mattress = back feels good.

I always pick DO's for my doctors. They like to help you fix the root of the problem and let the body heal naturally whenever possible; but they'll also prescribe medicines and treatments when necessary.

They said I can get up to eat or whatever but only for 20 minutes at a time..
Sounds odd to me, but he said you do NOT want the headache that comes if I don't do it..

I've had degenerative disc disease for 30 years.
Been driving professionally for 36 years, I'm sure that doesn't help.
Pain has come and gone over the years, but this time it is staying.
I learned yesterday I have pinched nerves on the inside and front of my spine.
That is why this ablation stuff didn't work, it treats the nerves along the side of the vertebrate.

I've got a good mattress, but you do have a point.
My pain is always worse in the mornings.
Perhaps the mattress is too stiff..
    I'll look into it..

You are fitting into this page very nicely.
    Welcome...

Ouch, sounds like you have a cronic physical problem.

Consult with the dr as to which mattress type (firm/soft) is best for your situation.

Me, I have to have something very firm.

I'm sure the doc knows what he's doing, but that drug doesn't seem like a straight-up pain killer
    Gabapentin: MedlinePlus Drug Information

On the 'laying flat for 24 hours'... The contrast is likely iodine. I had some injected into my spine to help imaging once. It definitely feels like a headache racing up your spinal cord while it's being injected, and I did have a mild headache after, but I don't remember instructions to lie down (tbh, I was in quite a bit of pain from the back problem, so he could have told me I'd won the lottery and I'd have missed it). Good luck, and I hope they don't have to cut too much.

I remember now. I think we were going to try giving our dog gabapentin as either an allergy medication or something to calm his anxiety. I'll have to ask Mrs Punishment if she remembers what it's for.

    Thanks.
Other meds I've been prescribed didn't help with the pain.
They made me loopy and stupid(er), but I still had the pain.
I was told this was more for nerves as opposed to muscular pain.

Yes, I read the drug info last night and that's why I asked y'all about it.
The possible side effects kinda freaked me out.
I thought maybe I was better off being in pain, or just stick with beer....:eek2:

    It's a seizure medication..

What side effects can this medication cause?

Milo gets fluoxetine daily and trazodone when we go on long car rides. We tried gabapentine for his anxiety and allergies but it didn't do much.

Taking it for back pain, and it may cause back pain. When I was a kid and hit my thumb with a hammer, my dad gave me the (sarcastic) advice to 'just hit your other thumb. Then that thumb will hurt half as much'...

I get the CT contrast often and the only side effect I get is a metallic taste and slight warm sensation when they inject it. Usually goes away quickly.

Also, it is so nice having my truck back. Almost felt a little odd driving home at first, just too used to the wife's Venza I guess.
