Damn found a platinum hybrid for 69k.

anyone else between a platinum and a pro? The ambient lighting and all black liner is tempting.

The Tacoma has always been legendary in the off road community. If the new Tacoma looks like this Toyota will be in a world of hurt. I am moving to a 22 tundra tomorrow and turning in my 6th Tacoma in a row. I have never had a Tacoma fail me and the Tacomaworld community is absolutely amazing but if the real thing is like these renderings it will not be good.

Why are people doing renderings? This is what the new Tacoma will look like, with a more normal grill for ICE trucks

Cue the renderings. It's the "I'd imagine" but in a visual format.

I have been set on a Pro and when I saw a neighbors who posted his platinum pics here a few days ago I changed my mind. Seeing it drive by made me mad he already put the perfect build together on which I cannot build since he already did. Jealousy looms large. The platinum would certainly be my second choice and if done right has more things I like to the Pro. Love the Platinum interior most

Something I've not seen asked, which doesn't mean it hasn't been, but how's the cruise control on the 3rd gen?
Is it a steaming pile like both of my 4runners and my tundra or is actually usable?

Not sure if this is what you mean. But my wife's rav4 cc made the steering super tight and barely able to stay in the lanes. Then I found out (on here) that if you press and hold the cc button. It reverts to the normal cruise and not the radar cruise. Steering is nice and normal.

No sir. My 01, 16, and my wife's 22 4runner all let the speed drop 5-6mph under the set speed while going up hill. Then it drops 3 gears, floors it to 5 over, lays off until back under and repeat.
My tundra does similar, but not as bad. It let's speed fall under, then plays hot potato between 4,5, & 6.

Classic Toyota Cruise Control. What a waste of the best cruise stalk interface out there. 30 years and running. Cruise works much better in S4 or S5

I drove mine from a dealership in Kansas down to Austin which basically was I-35 the whole entire way “8 hours” and the with the radar Cruise control and lane monitoring I barely had to put any effort into driving the damn thing. Love it!

I LOVE the sport wheels however, I HATE cleaning them. I hand wash all the cars once a week and dammit I never look forward to these wheels until they’re finished.

The Lane Centering Assist feature was one of the biggest surprises to me! Pretty cool.

I did not expect this truck to drive itself hands free (until the warning pops up) to the point of stopping completely in traffic then picking up again. My previous Forester had the adaptive cruise, but was not good in traffic.

I just discovered the auto brake button above the ebrake, also useful on long drives.

major major improvements I’d say. Small water bottle in the wheel on non twisty roads and it self drives

Forgive my ignorance, but what’s useful about the auto brake on long drives?

If by auto brake we're talking about the "brake hold" feature that allows you to take your foot off the brake after stopping, only to release the brakes when you step on the accellerator then yeah, I see no use for that in long trips or stop and go traffic. One of my vehicles has that feature and I only use it at long stoplights, otherwise I'd be lurching all of the time. With it off, when I release the brake, I gently roll forward. With that system on, no matter how lightly I touch the gas pedal, there is a degree of "lurching" that makes it MORE work in stop and go traffic. Then there's pulling into the garage: it's a tight fit so I creep up slowly until I hit my mark which is about an inch from the wall. Brake hold would have me crashing into the wall every time.
