The bed liner issue is the latest thing I've seen pop up but this doesn't sound like that. Interested to see if mine shows up with liner or not.

If on hold at a rail head does that usually mean they need to ship it somewhere else or do they have skilled worker there? Guessing it probably depends on the issue..

 

This is an interesting find since I see how they fixed the guest site method. Since I'm ordering through SET I didnt expect this to work as I usually get 404 or other non-responses with my VIN. But I also find it interesting this method shows me a result with a dealerCategory of "A" when build date was suppose to be 6/9

Is it only trucks with rear locking differentials ?

 

My original allocation had a bed liner. After all the complaints and recalls it was taken off the allocation. I wonder if they stopped it completely.

 

My allocation did the same thing. I thought my case was a 1 off situation.

 

Got a 1794 Hybrid just got put on QC hold.. bummer.

Anybody know how the actual QC process works at the rail yard?

 

Bummer. I'm expecting the same trim, was unloaded over the weekend, thought it could show up this week.

Only positive is that you know once you get it, it likely will be trouble free. But sucks none the less

 

All my dealer had to say was there is a solution for our shared mystery problem and whatever it is will be done at the rail yard / port facilities.

It sounds like they don't have the full story yet, but I'd expect someone to share it eventually.

 

Mine was on a 30 day QC hold last month ended up being only held for a little over 2 weeks. Sales and service said they were most likely addressing the rear axle since it had a “stop sale” until repaired or addressed and if you had any PIOs that were unavailable they will do the QC hold. I’m hoping for delivery this week

Just got a call from the dealer. My truck is at RAIL on a 3 day QC hold. SMH

 

Like Bobbyz said, these holds may not end up being the full 30 days as stated on the tracking info. Especially if it’s a simple fix. At least they are catching it early and taking care of it before we even receive our trucks. Many manufacturers would ship them with defects. Seems like Toyota is really trying to get it right with this new model

While I can agree with this, I simply can't fathom a good reason why Toyota can't find a way to communicate this hold with the dealerships. I just want to know the reason. An indefinite QC hold with no explanation is unacceptable IMHO - Toyota could and should do way better. This is 2022, the world of emails, trackers, digital memos, etc. A QC hold for a trim piece is a whole lot different than a QC hold for an engine issue - why do theh need to leave us in the dark?

 

I also agree with you. It would be great to know the reasons behind the QC hold. I’m sure we will find out eventually.

Sorry that was definitely a typo should say 30 days. But he said it says check back every Friday after 12pm for an update

No, but it seems like it’s affecting trucks built around the week of 6/20. My truck was built Monday 6/20 and is also on QC hold
