You don't need any lift to clear larger tires on an IFS truck. If the tires don't fit at stock ride height, they won't fit with a 3in lift either. Because the moment you ride over a curb, or rock, or anything else that will lift your tire into your wheel well, you are going to be back at stock height again anyway. That's how IFS lifts work.

So get to cutting. That's the only thing you can do.

I agree! I'm going to a mazzula rear bumper which I think clears alot of room. Maybe I'll see if mine will fit but hard to say.

I was going to build my own rear bumper so I can make as much clearance as I need. But I was always under the impression that the clearance issue were with the space between the frame rails.. I guess I should have just gone underneath with a tape measure and verified it myself rather than believing what I read on the internet.

That's my impression as well. The frame rails dont seem like it would fit.

I built my own high clearance bumper, and keeping a spare under the bed was a priority for me. The side-to-side clearance at the shackles is the limiting factor, unless you push the tire super far forward. But that would probably have other negative effects. I’ve read that 35’s just squeeze in between the shackles, but hit if you have thicker shackles like Coachbuilder. From my experience I would say that checks out. I don’t really see how a 37 would fit…

The other issue is width. My spare is only ~10.8” wide and it hangs down a decent amount from the high clearance bumper. A 12.5” would look pretty ridiculous, and rob most if not all of the clearance gained by the bumper.

Those are all very good points.

I'm just trying to keep options open. I don't like the idea of keeping the spare in the bed of the truck. Kind of defeats the purpose of a truck when you can't use the bed.

My current idea is a swing out tire carrier on the back bumper, but that still limits the use of the bed, especially when hauling long items with the tailgate down, which is roughly 90% of the hauling I do.

I have a high clearance rear bumper with the hitch relocated and I can definitely confirm a 37” spare tire fits.

Seriously tho, I think Evil is full of shit. Just no way to squeeze a 37 between the leafs, whether the hitch is removed or not. I think. Lol

Well, there might be a very slim chance if the spare can be moved back far enough that the widest part of the spare is just behind the shackles. But I’m questioning if the spare tire lifter would still even work? And what would even be the point of a high clearance bumper if the spare is going to hang that low anyways?

The correct answer is 2 37s fit in the bed.:p

Why does everyone ruin the pinch weld?, it’s actually part of the cab structure. LT with 37s no rubbing anywhere, used and abused. I did chop the cab mount because it rubbed the tiniest bit.:stirthepot:
