SOLD - Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX Head Unit **Read Description**

$100 and located in Chandler, AZ, I have a Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX head unit with wireless Android Auto/CarPlay, front camera input, DVD player, etc. However, I'm selling it cheap because it will randomly freeze and reboot. I have not been able to find the root cause, but I treated the symptom by installing a switch inline with its ignition power feed. The wireless CarPlay worked great for me, and the only reason I've decided to sell it is because we sold my wife's car and had a newer HU that I pulled from that one. Comes with the original accessories (handsfree wired mic, pigtail harnesses, remote) and I'll even throw in an XM tuner and the OEM antenna adaptors (idatalink STO2 pigtails). Not super interested in shipping, but I can get you a price if interested.

I thought about making it into a garage stereo but I've already got a decent smart speaker out there... figured it'd be a nice upgrade for someone willing to put up with some minor inconveniences.

 

Mine does that too. I assumed it has to do with the maestro but who knows..

 

This one seems to be software or heat related. It did it before I installed a Maestro and there haven’t been firmware updates for the HU since I installed it.

 

Its a Pioneer thing....mine does it once in a while.

 

So you’re saying it’s a feature and I should bump up the price…

 

Lol. Mine does it when I'm driving. I have to pull over and shut the truck off to get it to power back on.

 

Yep, same thing happened to me with it, which is why I finally installed the switch so I could just power cycle the HU.

 

Added updated pics with all of the accessories/adapters. Tossing in the USB adapter and Crux SWC retention/factory harness adapters.

I do have one person interested but not a confirmed sale.

 

Have you ever tried the fix by updating the firmware via sd card?

 

Yep. There was at least one after I bought it and installed, but there hasn’t been an update in a couple years. Pretty sure they gave up on support for it.

 

You need a new SD card with loaded firmware. Mine did this and I updated mine with the 8500 firmware and gained navigation as well. Hope this helps!

I had a 7xxx Nex that did this as well. Great unit otherwise but it got old.
