Ok everyone, please start using "Railway Station", "Railyard" and "Railhead" may be acceptable as well. This is serious.

 

Ya, I think its just the shorthand we've been using here for the most part.

Thanks. CSX says it arrived Friday late and is empty as of yesterday AM. We schedule trucks daily where I'm at and know how bad it can be even without any other delays. I just assume it can be 3-14 days to get to dealer from the railyard.

 

I think simply because that’s the actual name of the location where the trucks are shipped.

 

For me the dealer called it arriving at port. In the mid-Atlantic, Annapolis junction is close to the Annapolis port to be fair.

 

I call it a port because Toyotas facility is located at terminal 4 in the Port of Portland, they receive vehicles by boat and train. It’s probably because at some point in the several Toyotas I’ve bought over the years the dealer has referred to it as coming through the port of Portland. ‍

 

My dealer has used the phrase port specifically port of Houston.

 

Also, at least on my spec sheet - there are “factory installed options” and “port installed options” (PIO) so I thought was just what all the rail receiving locations were referred to as.

 

After the dealership gets the truck how long does it take for them to get the paperwork on the truck from Toyota?

My regional dealers (Gulf States) call it the port. The Midwest where I’m buying my truck called it the Railyard.

That makes perfect sense. To me it sounds like tomato tomato - all calling it differently, but the same thing. Sounds like Port is a very common term to most of us not directly in the logistics/transport business.

 

Mine just got off the train in the mid-Atlantic. Estimated 3 weeks travel time but it took 4 weeks.

 

What have you been seeing as far as timeframe goes from built date to delivery at dealership?

You’re not alone, had to go outside my dealer to get an update and come to find out it went QC today. Needless to say I’m pulling my deposit, this has been the biggest shit show I’ve ever witnessed.

 

Just got a message from my salesman. 30 day delay on my truck and a lot of others at the railhead/port.

I can't wait much longer. My Tacoma lease is almost up and I'm going to be left without a means of transportation. They dealers page no longer shows the truck at all, as it looks like it just disappeared. That's what happens when they go in QC?

What port is it sitting in QC hold at? Do you know? My CSX tracking shows the rail my truck is on has been sitting at Interbay, WA since saturday. Now I am curious.

Something is up. Just got off the phone with my dealer and was told that my truck, vin # 5TFNA5DB3NX039451 went into QC hold as well. They didn’t say why, but it’s strange that so many others were told the same thing today. Looks like a long, long wait ahead. This definitely sucks because all plans and work were based on delivery of the truck. My fault for believing their original timeline I suppose

 

Do you know what railyars yours is currently sitting at?

 

Mine is in Loma Verde, CA. Man I was so close to having it lol all jokes aside, this is pretty upsetting. Hopefully its just something small, like a safety software update or something.

 

My understanding is that it’s still at the factory and never even made it on a train

 

Imma lose it if mine is on QC hold lol
