@montera.built I’m a little confused on that kit and don’t know a whole lot about coil overs if you don’t mind answering my questions. Does that kit actually provide 2.5 inches of lift or just compatible with 2.5 inches of lift? If it does provide lift height, does the kit lift the rear at all or only the front?

So the 2.5 actually refers to the diameter of the shock body. Obviously much bigger than stock so it can hold much more shock fluid, creating a smoother, longer lasting ride on the trails. As far as this kit, King told me it will provide 2" of lift in the front out of the box, and preload can be added to lift it to 3". As far as the rear, it's good to run that shock on stock height, but Dobinsons has some spring options to lift the rear as well.

@montera.built so if you pair that kit with the total chaos UCAs will it still provide 2 inches of lift? Or does that just increase travel while still maintaining the lift height?

Yeah just will increase wheel travel. Lift is completely controlled by the amount of preload on the coilover

@montera.built right on thanks for the help man! I’ve been trying to figure it out but there’s not enough info out there yet for me to figure it out on my own so I appreciate you answering my questions

I actually like the ICON kit as you dont have to grind away any part of the truck or screws like with the pro comp. The best still seems to be the wescott but love the simplicity of the icon spacer and how the screws stay the same way.

The stance looks good to me. Although the rear will sag a little bit more when you load the truck bed.

This is why I don’t necessarily agree with leveling kit logic.

    Here’s my two cents:

We all know that trucks are made with a rake so that when there is load in the bed, they don’t squat excessively. Taking that into account, the fronts are typically designed “taller” to lessen the appearance of rake while still giving aerodynamic properties so that when under load, they “level” out. But the rear isn’t still isn’t supposed to squat that much. When you throw on a 3/2 or 3/1 level kit, you accentuate that appearance and which is why every truck with a leveling kit looks like it’s squatting.

Case in point: on the Ram, the bottom body line runs from the top of the rear wheel hub to just under the the front hub, if you were to level that out, it would force the front end up and change the aesthetic. The gap may be similar but it’s going to look like it’s squatting as is the case of the Tundra pic with the level kit. My point being that trucks are designed specifically to take rake into account.

most people focus on the wheel gap without regard to the actual body lines of the truck.

I added a 1” puck in the rear and the stance is perfect!
