    Hi all,

    New member from the PNW.

Been shopping for a Tundra/Sequoia for some time now, and I'm right on the precipice of purchase.

Looking to mainly have the ability to tow, and maybe get into some light trail stuff. I was initially looking at first gens, but with a tow rating of only 6k, it wasn't the jam(although the price is right...) Then I took a look at second gens and fell in love. They have just enough amenities and a good tow rating of 10.2k.

Really looking at 07-14 Limited Doube Cabs, but if the price is right I may settle for a CrewMax

My budget is under 20k(the closer to 15k the better,) and the truck will be financed. Stock or modded is fine, as long as the mods were done correctly(or can be easily reversible.)

So far I have found three, here they are:

    2007 White Limited DC - 168k miles - Dealer
    https://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/ctd/d/mckenna-2007-toyota-tundra-double-cab/7505975141.html

    2007 Silver Limited DC - 154k miles - Dealer
    https://www.auto206.com/details-200..._5_7l_v8_ltd_natl-used-5tbbv58147s450903.html

2008 Purple Limited DC - 151k miles - Private party
    https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/d/lafayette-tundra/7499167173.html

I've looked at the first two, and the White one is the likeliest candidate, but my only hold up is that it spent quite some time in Whistler, BC. There is some light surface rust on the frame, and the worst of it is on the front subframe, but I feel like its enough that I can deal with.

The silver DC has been a local WA truck all its life, but its been USED. There is a lot of wear from regular use, and it has some random damage on the climate control, as though someone didn't know how to remove it correctly. It does have a few aftermarket bits, but I wasn't 100% sold on it.

The purple one looks really nice in pics, but I am unable to check it out, since its down in the bay area. Love the color, love the simplicity, even with the few mods it has.

Would love feedback on choices, and even suggestions!

I tend to mod EVERY car I buy, and the Tundra will not be an exception. I'm going to keep it relatively tame compared to my other cars. Looking to do 6112/5160s, OEM replica flares, FN BFDs, rear airbags, RCI skid plates, and some other small bits. My inspiration for my build is my friend Mike's Tundra, seen here: https://motoiq.com/category/projects/toyota/tundra/

Sorry for the long post, but I miss being on forums. I used to be on a lot of Subaru forums regularly back in the day. Now I just use them for shopping and reference.

    Cheers!

I like the 3rd one. If you really want it. Fly down look at it and drive it home.

Welcome and greetings from Minnesota. Widen your search to include some of the Southwest Desert areas. Rust is a major issue in Minnesota so I do my used vehicle shopping in AZ. It’s worth the drive to get a rest free truck, and there is a decent selection. Good luck in your search.

SearchTempest is my friend. I'm pretty much looking up everything down to CA, AZ, CO, and TX.

I'd prefer to buy close of course, but I'll travel for the right one. The white one is in the lead, and right behind it is the purple one in the bay. If things work out, that will be a nice trip to pick up a car and a truck...
