Ugh, similar responses here. "I did not get a definite answer back on ETA . They are still waiting on some components for the build . I will reach out to the tomorrow and see if I can get a better answer .". I could've sworn I saw someone post that they had received a Leer for the '22, maybe I was mistaken? @DexterL, have you gotten any updates on your order?

Yep, mold is set to finalize this week and should be set for a July delivery- this is coming from their sales manager. Sounds like there has been issues getting the molds 100% dialed, but they are very close.

I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. Thank you for your interest in our Softoppers! Our designer is working on a new Softopper for the 2022 Tundras. I have put you on the list for notification when we know more.
This is the emailed response I got from soft topper. My only real thought is that by SEMA, most will be out. It’s the time that you just kind of have to make your splash. But as you can see above, there’s zero eta

I can't wait to see pics. I just talked to my local Leer dealer and am leaning towards the same model, 100XR. Traditionally I've used the 180's for the higher head room, but hardly ever needed that. So guessing the cab-level would suffice. I'm really wanting to see how they adjust for the tailgate, both how it bows out and that raised "lip" in the middle.

My local Leer dealer quoted me just shy of $4000 for the 100XL. I'll follow your lead and call others in the area and see if I can get a better deal. I've been struggling with getting something on the bed so I can carry stuff more securely. Been pondering even a "cheap" folding tonneau for $300 for now until I spring for a shell.

Thanks @2bak That's the Leer 100XR? I've never seen side windows like those, only the standard slider and flip out like on the 100XL. And did you de-badge it? I don't see any Leer markings.

Yea it’s a leer 100XR. The windows are called vented “windoors”. Looked like a neat way to gain access and also allow for ventilation. I ordered without logos. But I am used to the indented ‘Leer’ logo in the back lower corner. This one has nothing. My dealer and I were wondering if this is new for Leer or just a one off on the new model topper.

Thanks, I too am used to that indented triangle for the logo, guessing that's new without the indented spot. Good to know you can order with no logos. That large one in the back windows was always annoying and I take them off.

I see you're in Bellingham, may I ask how much you paid, and which dealer? I'm guessing Canopy World?

Raincap on the Guide Meridian in Bellingham. The owner Gary is great- old school straight shooter. High level attention to detail and very good installs. $4400. That’s carpet lined, cloths hanger, and, those vented wondoors.

Can you see into the bed with the bed cam up on the 3rd brakelight still?

It looks like the bed bows in a little bit over the wheel and causes the gap to widen a bit where it sits on the rail. Is that correct or is it just the camera angle?

The shape seems to be reflective of the bed bulge that is above the rear wheels, kinda a flare look that Toyota put in- Leer had to work around it it seems. And you can kinda see into the bed. I’ll snap some more photos of the shell later today.

The Leer 100XR is looking goooood! Anyone have any news on where ARE is with their molds?

I was told by my dealer that both ARE and Snugtop are in pre-order and expecting molds to be completed and production to start within 4-6 weeks.

Century and Leer are apparently the same exact product though so both are now available for our trucks

    Couple more questions for you:

    1. I'm out in Spokane and the sales guy said most of the Leer canopies we get up here are still made in their CA plant and not in their newer Mexican plant. Any idea where yours was made? I was gonna wait for ARE since they are made in Ohio, but if I can get the Leer made in USA I might pull the trigger on that one instead

    2. How pleased are you with the overall quality, fit, and finish? Especially compared to any canopies you've had previously (If you've had one).

    3. Have you done any waterproofing tests? Any leaks?

Not sure on country of origin. Fit and finish is fine. I’ve have several leers over the years. No waterproof tests yet.

360 camera uses cameras on the grill, mirrors, and tailgate so a canopy shouldn't affect it

Yes, works like normal. Although the little drone that flys above the truck seems not to notice the canopy so it doesn’t show up on the screen in the overhead view.

Yea that’s a fake truck anyways, I’ve played with putting stuff on the roof and tonneau cover and it doesn’t pick them up
