What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

It is always a correct decision to remove lift blocks.

 

Curious ... which uppers are you running? They look notably more stout than what Camburg and JBA are putting out, to me at least.

Wait, what? How tall are the blocks? I wouldn't expect much (if any) alignment change with, like, 1" blocks.

 

They are SPC's. I was pleasantly suprised with how beefy they are.

 

It has 2" blocks. Some info I found in a different forum said that lifting (or lowering) the rear could effect caster angle, which from my very limited understanding of alignment geometry is important for clearing the 33's. Even if it barely effects the alignment I don't want to risk uneven wear on my brand new tires.

 

I'm assuming the poly bushings for the stock shackles you referred to are the tacoma ones?

 

I feel like I need a PhD in suspensions to understand the best choices. And I’m only half joking. Going on one year of “I want a truck which can do cool stuff”.

 

Finally got over my fear of metal sparks from a cutting wheel near the gas tank and went to town mangling off the old pickup cab mount to replace it with the new one.

 

The measurements will be different, simply because the frame angle will change.

But as you're not actually changing the front suspension settings by lowering the rear, it won't change any front clearance (or lack of). No need to worry about tire wear from this.

 

Poly body mounts?

 

Yep, the energy suspension ones made for the latest years of the Tacoma. Looks like they fit exactly for the regular and access cabs, but not for the double cabs.

Unless somewhere between 02-04 the body mounts changed for all variations of the Tundra.

This morning I replaced those stupid little plastic clips for the screws on the cowl. It leaked a ton onto my passenger floor last night driving due to the severe heavy rain and hitting lots of puddles on the road. I got the correct parts to stop the leak but all my snaps are busted so I have to order some more parts lol. Hopefully it leaks no more! Also I found why my fan was making a noise, it was a leaf in there. Little by little my baby is getting fixed!

 

Swapped out BFG K02's for Yokohama Geolandar MT's in 265/75/16

 

I should do those. Did it include the radiator support bushings?

8.4109G ones. I’m curious what method you’ll use to get at them (cab mounts) and tool to extract the old ones.

 

You get all 6 for $99. It’s a good deal IMO. I haven’t done the rest yet.

I really need to get off my lazy ass and get the archive relocation kit and hammer hangers on my truck. They’re just chilling in the basement.

 

DAP tunings latest 4.7L tune for our trucks. I know he was working on a new one to extract max power and TQ from the engine. The last email I got from him said increases in the 25-30 HP range and TQ, can't remember.

 

But does it cover the 05-06. Or is it 07+. OV tune my buddy dug into the files and all he actually supports is a 2008 4.7

 

I still need to figure out my backup camera situation…

 

Yes 05-06. I have a 07 Sequoia. Still rocking the 4.7L VVTi. I currently have a R9k tune which is okay but isn't as good as DAP.
