Some advice please: love my 2005 Tundra SR5 but it’s showing it’s age. Was told by muffler repair shop that the passenger side exhaust manifold is cracked. Noticeable sound but not overly loud. 345,000 miles on the truck. Fair amount of corrosion underneath reported by the Toyota dealer that does the service work. But I still love the truck.
Not an experienced mechanic by any means but does some basic stuff. Am I getting in over my head if I try and replace the exhaust manifold? Do I even have all the tools?

First, Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! It sounds like you may be throwing good money after bad since you have all the extra corrosion down below.

I have it on good authority from those that have removed and replaced the exhaust manifolds that it's not for the faint of heart.
Some of the folks merely sent it off to a reliable shop and let them complete the task.
It's not an easy choice to make . . .

All that work to take off and he ends up cutting the manifolds to get to the hard stuff. I wonder how he was able to install the headers since he didn't want to pull the motor mounts....

As much as I don’t like it, corrosion is keeping me from doing much of anything on the truck other than safety items like tires, brakes, lights…. Watching the You Tube video made the decision easy to not do it myself. Maybe it’s time to go electric.
