No I don’t. I don’t think it’s even on a car yet, according to Bobby z it’s still at the plant. It’s just that the dealer called again today and confirmed it’s here just waiting to be delivered. I asked how they know and they told me they called directly and found out. I’m calling BS at this point

 

I get "no status available" too. I wonder if someone made a mistake when they typed your rail car number into Toyota's system.

That is what I’m thinking on mine too, but even just 30 minutes ago in the Dealer Daily, there is no change since rail depart on 6/9.

 

I have no idea. It’s definitely frustrating getting calls from them stating it’s here and at the same time tracking shows it in Texas

Ok so yesterday my dealer said the truck would be there. Then I call them today to check in and my rep and the sales manager are off. I ask if anyone else can check on it. No call back tomorrow is what I was told. So truck could be there or might still be at the port. Who knows. ​

 

Nice last time I knew my truck just showed up there a few days ago. Did you get your truck at lia?

Exactly. What's the point in being nasty and rude? It literally doesn't help and doesn't get people anywhere.

 

I guess that would mean there is no point in this tread and everyone should go with the logic of it will show up when it shows up. I actually work for UPS and I guess I have been spoiled with logistics and telematics that can track my every move as well as every package I touch. I didn’t mean actually be nasty so I apologize if I made it seem like I was going to call and cuss the dealer out. That’s not the case and I am sitting in the dark planning days off and a vacation around getting a vehicle with a pretty demanding work schedule. I don’t mean to say it’s the dealers fault but I simply don’t have days off to throw to the wind. @Bobby Z sorry for my above post, It’s just more of a stressful process than it should be and it’s frustrating when you make the accommodations to make things work out and they fall short in the timeframe given to you. If that’s the case I don’t believe they should give you 4 different days in 2 week time frame where the truck will actually arrive at the dealership for the customer to pick up from the actual location where it’s being purchased from and be completely wrong with what they tell you. As someone not working within the internal logistics of The toyota shipping network all I can go off of is what I am told by the dealer.

 

I appreciate your insight. I had no idea how the process works and it’s comforting to know how the sausage is made. You’re doing your industry a huge favor getting this information out there. Your posts have caused me to NOT get pissy with the dealership.

 

I used this thread to validate where my truck was after the dealer told me it was built, its really cool that people are willing to help fill in the gaps where your vehicle is at when your local dealer cant or just telling you the same thing,

I had to take the when it shows up it shows up mindset, my dealer made it very clear to me that they cant give me firm dates because of all of the goofiness with the supply chain and transportation challenges happening.

We are in the same boat SC.92 pro, its off the rail car and the dealer is telling me that my truck could show up tomorrow or the end of next week based on what their previous expierence has been.

I am in the telematics business, specifically fleets and deal with class 8 trucks, (semis) the driver shortage is real, I have one customer that has 1000 rigs, only 750 of them are active right now because of not being able to hire drivers, the owner told me that they tell customers they can get to them in 60 to 90 days.

Take a deep breath..it will all work out for you..

What does rail arrival mean.

 

July 18, 2022 is approaching.

Rail Carriers and the collective bargaining group reached an impasse as of June 18, 2022 and declined binding arbitration. Strike ballots are out, and unless a Presidential Emergency Board is initiated before July 18, we in the RR industry will be going on a long overdue strike.

Good luck getting your trucks everyone, supply chain is possibly going to get real real ugly. A work stoppage of only a few hours can take weeks to clean up, especially given how short handed we are.

Even if a PEB is initiated under the Railway Labor Act they only have a finite amount of time to delay self help by the disputing parties. On September 18, 2022 self help will again be available. I don’t think the RR’s will (or can) lock us out, but we will 100% strike if there is no satisfactory contract by then. At which point it will be in Congress’s hands.

 

oh, oh! Bad news for us waiting for delivery. I hope the rail negotiations get settled. I suspect my truck might be caught in those troubles. I really would like to see an update with potential end of rail time if someone has the time.

The rail yard is only an hour drive time from the dealership.

 

So my truck was loaded on the truck to be delivered to dealer yesterday. I noticed this morning that my truck was removed from the dealers website. So I guess that happens once they are loaded on the truck for delivery
