Anyone have tips for the Rear Door vertical moulding? Is the special-tool 'clip remover' needed?? Hope it's not trickier than the other lower horizontal pieces...half thought I was going to break them or the truck taking them off..

looks like just a regular old panel popping tool or a flathead screw driver job. How did the other parts go?

I literally just put my hand behind the trim and pull on it. The vertical piece is only hold by double sided tape and three clips. I’m in California so I think the sun loosen up the tape for me. It not use a heat gun. For the horizontal windows trim pieces you have to pull from the center and up then up. (Where my fingers are). On these pieces be careful because they is a clip that could break off. Not the worst thing in world. Mine broke off but I use double sided tape to make sure it stayed in placed.

Do the pieces hold any of the trim? In the instructions someone posted it looked like you needed to seat the seals inside the trim- from what you say it looks like you just pop them off and pop on new ones? Easy instal? Time to instal?

I dipped my grill inserts on my 07, 14 and 16 (until I got a pro grill for it) and they all looked amazing. It was all in the prep work and application. Window trim area is a tough one for me though… all that rubber around- I’m either wrapping it or buying the gloss parts, apparently the instal is easy, so if @Roman has the parts in stock I’ll be swapping them over!

I agree, I dipped a plenty on my past Tacoma but that window trim I think wouldn’t hold in a year or more.

So it’s a super easy instal? Like can do it in a hotel parking lot at night after driving for 6 hours?

Hey guys, I did the window trim in the satin/matte black - the seam at the rear doors where the lower window seal piece meets the vertical trim piece is pretty gaping. Not sure if I did something wrong or not - it does come with a little trim piece that looks like it’s supposed to cover this gap… but, the little trim piece doesn’t fit all that well and it doesn’t snap in or anything, it’s almost like it needs to be glued - anyone have experience/luck with this? Posted photos of chrome before, black after, with close up of the gap I’m referring to on the black. Something just doesn’t seem quite right. Upon further review, looks like maybe those 2 little plastic trim pieces were actually a part of each lower rear window seal, and broke off? Might try to glue on there temporarily until I can either exchange or order new pieces…

Just wrapped all 4 handles - never wrapped anything in my life before, but thought I would try before shelling out $250 to have it professionally done (or $350 for new black handles). Honestly wasn’t too bad! Spent about 20 minutes watching some YouTube videos and got some basic plastic tools and a 1’x5’ sheet of Avery Satin Black wrap, both on Amazon.

Some small imperfections but we’ll see how it holds up!

Took about 1.5 hours start to finish.

Also, forgot to mention a heat gun was essential, especially for the driver’s handle with the keyhole - got that on Amazon for about $30.

No fix, but I did some closer looking and the little trim pieces actually look like they are part of the lower window molding, mine just happened to snap off either in transit or as I was unboxing - you can see the break lines. It’s weird because it looks like the gloss black and the chrome trims don’t have this piece, they are put together a little different. But, I’ll either just try to glue them on or reach out to the dealer to see if I can get a replacement set of rear lower trim. If not they are pretty cheap to just buy a new set. For now, it’s actually not bothering me near as much as I thought…

Looks good. I wonder how durable it'll be on something that gets touched everyday.

For those that have replaced the window trim- for the curved piece on the rear doors how do you snap that one in? Curved part first, snap part by pillar first?

The only fix I saw was going with the gloss instead of matte black

i have had 2 passenger door trims show up bent and 2 warped that won’t clip in. Went to pick up the 5th one today and it was bent. Should have a new one Monday or Tuesday hopefully- this last bit of chrome is killing me
