    Hi all,
I recently installed a Hertz HCP 5D in my 2018 DC. I am using the stock head unit feeding the speaker level inputs of the amp.. I have run 8 gauge wire directly from the battery (with fuse) and used a 8 gauge ground. I used a autoharnesshouse.com https://autoharnesshouse.com/41112.html wiring harness to splice replace the stock amp..

My question is, for those people who upgraded their stock amps, what wire did you use to trigger the amp on? I used wire 9 on plug J144. This runs directly from the head unit. It is switched on when the truck key is in the acc or run position. It is not switched on or off with the radio. I'm assuming this is to allow for blue tooth and GPS to come through the speakers.

Am i looking at this correctly?

I recently purchased this exact amp. How did you connect into the high level inputs or did you use a LOC?

And did using wire 9 on j144 work. I'll be finally installing this amp next week. I got mine used and had to order the high level input harness. Did u only use the front and rear high inputs or did u use the sub high input harness as well? Sorry for all the questions but you are the only one I have found that has the same amp.

I used the front and rear high level input. Power wire directly from the battery. Ground to a local ground point. Yes I believe I used wire 9 on J144 as the trigger. I picked up the Toyota Factory Amp Upgrade harness Item# 4438 from https://autoharnesshouse.com/41112.html. It gave me all the input and output to connect directly to the factory wiring..

Awesome! I already have the j144 and j145 harnesses from autoharnesshouse. I'm just waiting for the micro 4 pin molex connectors for the high level inputs. I bought the amp used and they didn't come with it. Thanks for all the info. What did u use as an amp rack?

I built my own rack out of 2 strips or 1.5" wide x 36" long 1/8" thick aluminum. I bent them in a __|------|__ shape.. I drilled and tapped a couple holes to mount the amp to. Unfortinatually I did not take a picture of them before I installed them..
