This is my wife's pup... We've been told that's what she is (minus the coyote), but not sure either. We got her a few years ago after my wife's lab passed. She was apparently removed from a kill shelter in CA and brought to a rescue in Vegas so she could have her puppies (yes pregnant when they found her). Her foster was able to get all of her puppies adopted out, but couldn't find a permanent home for her, so we took her. Yes, she is quick also; but hates fireworks (worse than any dog we've ever seen)...

    upload_2022-7-6_14-21-51.jpg

Edit: (sorry, just realized the photo didn't attach for some reason)...

We wonder if she didn't get separated from her owner during a New Years event (timing would have been right)...

Anyhow, have a great day and enjoy your pup!!!!!

Black and white name is Oreo and the brown and white is cuddles. She is mad cuz she played hard and got mats on her ears so we had to shave her.

Bentley hates fireworks too. He gets a prescription on 4th of July and new years.

It is only my theory that he is part coyote. I have no proof.

Shepard and husky is a great mix. Smart, fun, and loves his family.

    Enjoy your pup too.

Sorry, for some reason the photo didn't attach on my post earlier (it's there now though)...

What are you using for a script, and how were your results w/it?

This last time we used a gel called Sileo, which you rub into the gums; it's hella expensive though (about $38/tube) and you can go through up to 2 tubes a day/night depending on the weight of the dog. Results were fair; it sedated her a bit, but didn't resolve, and her memory of the previous day was still there because as it got dark again yesterday she started nuttin up, and we had no fireworks last night:
    shopping_7db1c752ba18343f1af5965d762da6e8af42a0db.png
In the past we've tried 'denning' (covered kennel w/blanket around her), redirection, desensitization, CBD, and a mixture of trazadone and gabapentin. The last combo worked the best the day of, and she had no issues w/nerves the next day. However, the trazadone upsets her stomach so she had diarrhea that next day (but she would eat and seemed happy), so that may be the best bet unless I find something else to try.

Trazadone and CBD work well for thunder and fireworks. If he cuddles up with someone that helps too.

Trust me she's glued to mom the whole time... Did you run Trazadone w/CBD (together)??? If so, I may have to give that a shot at memorial day!

We used Trazadone and Maverick's thunder shirt for fireworks.
We got new windows on the house this year and it was noticeably quieter inside compared to previous years..

Living here my entire life I can't imagine not having AC in the house.
Although growing up my dad would never set it under 80 degrees.
That was like not having AC..

No AC for about 95% of the homes up here on the coast. Go inland about 20 miles and it's a must have! I couldn't believe it when we started house shopping out here. I kept askin' where's the AC? They kept sayin' don't have one!!!

It was rough in 2020 w/the fires though; we had to close all the windows to keep the smoke out, and it got more than stuffy! Good thing I wasn't working anymore.....

I could never live in a house, in any state or country without AC.

Here’s Elliot! He’s a Carolina dog from Texas, probably 8-9 years old now. My wife found him on Facebook, we adopted him and had him driven to Washington about 7 years ago. He was a stray that was bounced around foster homes until we found him. Great hiking buddy and does really well with our 3 year old!

This is probably a bit anthropomorphic...

But, I don't think they'd want us to feel alone or sad for them once they are gone. I think they'd want us to carry on and find joy again. I think they'd want us to remember them for the good times, the adventures, and the companionship and not have us feeling sad or thinking in a negative way of their passing....

... way easier said than done though!!!!

The 2 yellows are brothers and 12.5 years old Their days are numbered but the 1.5year old keeps them kicking. If she wasn't here they would just sleep all day. It bewilders me that folks wait to fill the void that a passing pet has left. I have never not had a dog, cat or pets. Dogs will add years to your life.

Been thinking a lot about this lately. Lost all 3 of our Furry family in the last 14 Months. Our beloved English Bulldog Wallace a little over a year ago, and our 2 cats in the last 5 Months, the last just a few weeks ago. It hurts so bad losing them after having them as part of the family for between 12-16 years, and the Wife's not sure she can do it again. Still not sure what to do, but damn this house is so quiet and lonely without them.

@stevesgraytundra got me on this thread idea…
This is my Dagny girl, going on 6 and my first dog. She is frustrating, impatient, intensely focused, ever vigilant and much smarter than me (as any of you with smart dogs know, this is a double-edged sword). Only usurped by my wife’s first doggo and a great pup until he passed from cancer. You never get over that stuff, you know? Anyway, make my day and post up some pics of your Tundra companion!
