Westcott Order Shipped

For some this is a non-issue, for others this is an update to delivery times.

My order (2022 Toyota Tundra Preload Collar Lift Kit - SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794, TRD Sport, AVS/Air Ride - AVS/Air Ride (Hitachi Shocks), Black Anodize) placed on 30 March, shipped today.

With my simple math, that was a 10-week period from order to shipped (shipping to WA state from AZ should be only 2-3 days).

Note that my order was for the Air Ride brackets and Black Anodize on Hitachi Shocks.

Hope to get it by Monday next week.

 

also shipped today. preload collar with avs for tokico shocks. order was placed 23, march. shipping to norcal.

 

Looking forward to the results, have you gotten your install appt scheduled yet?
I know Auburn Car Repair & Offroad is about a month or more out for install. I also got a quote from The Toyota Garage in Bellevue for the full 3/1 install and it was about $1100 out the door. ($800 install / $155 Alignment + Tax)

I'm still sitting on my full 3/1 kit. If anything i might just throw on just the rear since I want a bit more rake, and keep the front top shim plates off.

 

I believe they're in the middle of or are just done with a shop move to a bigger location. This is me not checking their social media and typing out of memory.

 

No not yet....since I am in Olympia I am going to give a local suspension shop an opportunity to give me an estimate. In fact I just got back from visiting them and they are about 2 weeks out for new work. While visiting I gave them the Westcott Design YT channel install video link.

The owner gave me a high ball estimate 6+ hours of work overall (including the alignment), but the shop manager had told me 3+ hours or less the last time we had talked....

If anyone else in the Olympia area has a recommendation I would be interested.

Toyota of Olympia (even though the owner of the dealership has Westcott on his 4Runner) quoted me $1500...

 

6 hours is a bit steep, but then again if it was easy we'd do it ourselves. It just hurts when the install is 3x the price of the kit.

 

Yeah, talking to the shop now....3.5 hours.

Estimate to do both the front and the rear air bag spacer/air bag bracket is 3.5 hours + alignment (done at the shop) for $650 (tax included). The suspension guy's name is Tony.

It will be done on 20 June, will give feedback when complete.

I'm putting off ordering mine until I have keys in hand (this Friday if no hiccups), but looking like I won't be installing until Halloween at this point... Hopefully they can get it together soon!

 

What is kinda funny (when I got my kit in the mail), WD charges $40 for shipping....but the kit fits into a Small Flat Rate USPS box....so shipping is a flat $12 or so? Gotta build in that additional profit margin...LOL

 

Ordered my Westcott lift for my TRD sport Tuesday July 5th Cause they had a July 4th sale 10% off. Was expecting 4 weeks wait but shipping label was created and it says order shipped and received by usps today July 7th. May just get it early next week.

Possibly cause TRD sport less popular? and they had it in stock.

 

lucky you… I ordered 6/18 through R4T… their site said 4-6 weeks, and Westcotts said 6-7 weeks…

I messaged Westcott on FB on 6/22 just to see if they could tell me which was more accurate so I could plan my wheel & tire install, and they hit me back late that night saying mine would actually ship in less than two weeks… Today marks 2 weeks, and nada haha…

got my damn hopes up, but it’s all good… My kit is for TRD Off Road, and I got black so I know those take longer…

 

I went with raw aluminum, could also be why it was even faster. I know Westcott said they had some issue with their anodizing process. They having other places do it and it was slow. So I went with raw. Eventually will be swapping out for coils. This just a temporary solution to fit 35’s for me.

 

Living in central OH, i was worried about all the salt and shit we get in winters messing with the raw over time... I'm also planning legit coils in the future, but on the off chance that gets postponed/cancelled, I want my Westcott kit to last...

 

this is exactly the reason. the kits are built in-house and are raw but black anodized is outsourced and they had some challenges with their partners turning things around quickly. at least this is what i was told by them.

 

Westcott design kit going to be delivered Monday. 6 days from date of order.

Doing the install myself. Hardest part is finding place to do alignment. Dealers are saying 2 weeks for appointment.

 

do you have a 4 Wheel Parts location near you?

 

Don’t think there is a 4WP in PA. Closest is the new one that open in NJ.

Local off-road shop told me it be about a week for alignment. So may go with them.

 

Update: Called yesterday and the phone guy said that the TRD Off Road kit is still taking 4-5 weeks from order date to ship, despite the info I was give by whoever runs their FB account... Weirdest part is the phone guy all but refused to actually look at my specific order, whereas whoever I talked to on FB took my name and address and said 2 weeks... That was now 3 weeks ago and nada... I'm not sweating it, I knew the potential for 4-6 weeks was there, but they should get their people on the same page at least...

On another note, I saw a youtube video from TRD JON yesterday in regards to brake line upgrades with any kit, including Westcott... That is the first I've heard of it, and I haven't seen anyone here specifically mention upgrading their lines either... My guess is that's just him making a paid endorsement for the Yota Mafia people?
