So… I didnt wait long. At all. But it is a long story.

I actually got really lucky… Like, Really REALLY lucky. I had an alert set on cars.com for nationwide on one. Nothing happened, but then this one popped up last month as an allocation, and quite literally in my own back yard of all places! (less than 45min away).

When I got the alert, I contacted dealership IMMEDIATELY and was first in line, quite miraculously. The dealership didnt even know they were being allocated one, much less when, and certainly they did not expect Solar Octane.

My salesman was awesome. He waited for me to drive over there. I of course went to them lickety split, made deposit, and then waited until they called me that it was completely built and in transit a few days later. I bought the truck and then just had to wait. Luckily, my day was today. It arrived this morning and while we were there finalizing everything and picking it up, people were stopping in to look at it and try to purchase it. Apparently there were numerous call ins and emails in the leading up until today from the moment it listed online also. So many that everyone who works there said they lost count.

So, yeah… Very lucky on a number of fronts. Also, I got in on it just in time and they hooked me up because of my veteran status so my markup was minimal. As of July 1st though, IF they do happen to get another, they said it will be at least $15,000 markup! They have a Capstone right now on the lot with an even higher markup. Manager looked up the current national allocations to date on Solar Octane TRD Pros and said there are at present only 16 built and 15 are sold. He didnt say where the next one is going but did say July 7th to ship. Just an FYI for those looking.

Honestly though, everyone, it has been a rough year for me personally. Obviously I wont go into details, but you could write a #1 country song based on the series of events I’ve had thwarted my direction this year. Ive stayed strong though, pushed through on faith multiple times, and so having all this happen the way it did for me on this truck really feels like a blessing. That doesn’t mean I don’t feel for those of you still waiting patiently… I just feel incredibly lucky and humbled to have something go my way. And the smile on my boys’ faces all the way across the lake, and then to Five Guys for lunch before heading home: Awesome day, gentlemen. Awesome day.

First of all, thank you for your service. Sorry you've had a rough year. You can ride with pride in that beauty. If I may say so, your not giving yourself enough credit. Luck is when preparation meets opportunity and you nailed it. Enjoy it and happy 4th to you, your family and all others on the thread.

Man, that looks sharp!! I have seen some guys on youtube wrapping the grill surround, but no way I would do it on Black. That stands out and looks both aggressive and incredible in my opinion. Congrats!!

My first Tundra! I was one of the lucky ones who was at the right place at the right time! It’s been great! The dealer is installing the westcott leveling kit in a few more weeks. Then I’ll put on 35’s. Thinking Nittos??? If I can find em..

First, from one vet to another, thank you for you service. Secondly, congrats on the new truck. And lastly, “across the lake”, you must be on the north shore. I lived in Mandeville until I was 18yo and left for basic training. Much of my family is still there

You would be correct! The Navy is actually why we ended up here. Im originally from out west but got put on a certain little patch of government property on the Pearl River right over in MS way back right after Katrina. Wife, daughter, and I ended up loving the north shore and my two boys were born here as well, so we just kind of stayed. The boys are close to entering high school, and our daughter is getting married soon, so that pretty well settles it that we are here for good.

Thanks for your service as well, man!
Stay safe out there. Head always on a swivel! :infantry:

got a spacer lift until the Icon kits come out. Running 35x12.5x17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on RRW RR6-H Wheels 0 Offset. Waiting on paint matched grille surround and rear bumper panels. Also waiting on the rest of the chrome delete bits.

the Blueprint color is pretty wild in the sun!

I went with 5% all around, 50% Windshield. I live in Southern Utah and it frequently pushes 105+ degrees here in the summer.

I just did 15% fronts and 50% over all the back/rears, but I asked about windshield too late and have to schedule it seperately... He said he does a lot of 70% and 80% windshields, but I was thinking I wanted 50% and this confirms it... Looks damn good...

thanks! I have no regrets with 50%. Any darker and it would probably affect my night visibility, especially with 5% all around

I just realized (by looking at these pics and reading here) that you are allowed to tint the entire front windshield??? …rather than just a strip at the top?

Didn’t realize that was a thing….learned something else today.

Like everything else, state by state law will vary... In Ohio, we only recently got the greenlight for full windshield, but legally 70% or higher... Front windows are supposed to be 50% or higher... I'm rolling 15% and have had no issues with LEO, and will roll 50% on the windshield and take my chances...
