Man, that looks sharp!! I have seen some guys on youtube wrapping the grill surround, but no way I would do it on Black. That stands out and looks both aggressive and incredible in my opinion. Congrats!!

 

For sure! I was thinking about wrapping it as well but it looks solid as is! Super happy so far.

 

Just picked up my 2022 limited this morning and her she is parked besides my wife's suv.

 

My first Tundra! I was one of the lucky ones who was at the right place at the right time! It’s been great! The dealer is installing the westcott leveling kit in a few more weeks. Then I’ll put on 35’s. Thinking Nittos??? If I can find em..

 

First, from one vet to another, thank you for you service. Secondly, congrats on the new truck. And lastly, “across the lake”, you must be on the north shore. I lived in Mandeville until I was 18yo and left for basic training. Much of my family is still there

 

You would be correct! The Navy is actually why we ended up here. Im originally from out west but got put on a certain little patch of government property on the Pearl River right over in MS way back right after Katrina. Wife, daughter, and I ended up loving the north shore and my two boys were born here as well, so we just kind of stayed. The boys are close to entering high school, and our daughter is getting married soon, so that pretty well settles it that we are here for good.

got a spacer lift until the Icon kits come out. Running 35x12.5x17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on RRW RR6-H Wheels 0 Offset. Waiting on paint matched grille surround and rear bumper panels. Also waiting on the rest of the chrome delete bits.

what tint % you running on windshield? looks damn good so far...

 

I went with 5% all around, 50% Windshield. I live in Southern Utah and it frequently pushes 105+ degrees here in the summer.

 

I just did 15% fronts and 50% over all the back/rears, but I asked about windshield too late and have to schedule it seperately... He said he does a lot of 70% and 80% windshields, but I was thinking I wanted 50% and this confirms it... Looks damn good...

 

thanks! I have no regrets with 50%. Any darker and it would probably affect my night visibility, especially with 5% all around

 

I just realized (by looking at these pics and reading here) that you are allowed to tint the entire front windshield??? …rather than just a strip at the top?

Didn’t realize that was a thing….learned something else today.

 

Like everything else, state by state law will vary... In Ohio, we only recently got the greenlight for full windshield, but legally 70% or higher... Front windows are supposed to be 50% or higher... I'm rolling 15% and have had no issues with LEO, and will roll 50% on the windshield and take my chances...

 

Technically, no… Not beyond a certain % which varies by state. I had my Ram almost completely blacked out all the way around but it was good tint and I could see perfectly at night. I never had any trouble. I also used to be a police officer here and so that helps too. lol

I will be doing the front door windows on the Tundra and will certainly do something to the windshield, though probably nothing too dark. I’m not too impressed with the AC blower in the Tundra. It feels a little lackluster. Im hoping tint will help.

In all honesty, I never worked traffic, I was a patrol officer. Sure, we use traffic laws as probable cause to pull you over, but I never once wrote a citation for window tint. It’s just a risk you gotta be willing to take.

What was your buying timeline (deposit, allocation, VIN assigned…) on this truck?

 

Put $500 dollar deposit down via text message about 3 weeks ago, had a VIN at the same time. Truck was built end of June and at the dealer in Gilroy, Ca last night. Super fast and awesome experience. Flying up from San Diego tomorrow to drive her back.
